Dr. Hostin - Outstanding Results
I saw Dr. Hostin in April of 2019. I was in severe pain from herniated disc at L4-5. I had been scheduled for a lumbar fusion by another doctor. A failed EKG during pre-op postponed that procedure and I underwent quadruple bypass surgery in January 2019. That prevented fusion for six months or until cleared by cardiologist. I had undergone 3 microdiscectomies but all failed to alleviate the pain. I found Dr. Hostin through a friend and scheduled a visit. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Hostin’s diagnosis and recommended treatment. He explained everything in detail and instilled hope in me that I could live pain free. He saw to my pain care until I was cleared for the lumbar fusion he performed on 6-11-2019. His bedside manner is great and he is professional, compassionate and caring. I have been pain free following a very short recovery period. I can’t relate how much that has meant following such a long period of severe pain. He is absolutely the best!

Doing so well after a fusion almost 5 yrs ago
I came across this review site looking for Dr. Hostin’s address to refer a close friend. As I do all my friends that may benefit from his help. I had suffered for almost 10 years due to seeing 2 surgeons telling me they could not help. Really? Dr. Hostin knew exactly what he needed to do and could do. I had a very easy recovery. His PA’s and staff are wonderful and very helpful. I was able to speak to one 2 years later to discuss a problem and was relieved after talking with him. I trust Dr. Hostin’s opinion and expertise without a question.

You're pushing 40 that's your pain issue - Hostin
When I went to visit Dr. Hostin, I left feeling disrespected and diminished. I have scoliosis and was braced all through high school. Now, at 38 years old, I do yoga and exercises to try to help my pain and stiffness. I have pain all down my left leg and lower back every single day with no reprieve. I went to Mr. Hostin looking to get some relief. He told me that I am pushing 40 and that scoliosis is not the cause of any of my pain or stiffness. It is my age. He did not go over my x-rays, did not over any physical therapy or any sort of care. He simply said I am pushing 40 and that was the cause of everything. I am 5'8, weigh 124 pounds, do yoga daily and keep up with my 2 very active kids. I am by no means a slouch and take care of myself. My age is not my problem. 38 is still young. He made me feel awful. I left there feeling exceptionally defeated. He is hands down the worst doctor I have ever encountered.

Best Spine Surgeon in Dallas
Dr. Hostin in an amazing doctor. I feel he gave me my life back. After five years of pain from scoliosis and stenosis. I'm pain free. He is extremely knowledgeable but also very honest and straightforward about the surgery he will perform (risks and rewards). After interviewing seven spine surgeons, I knew Dr. Hostin was the only person I would trust to operate on my back, and I'm so glad I did. My surgery was performed two years ago, and I'm a walking miracle. Thank you, Dr. Hostin!

Amazing!
I literally have been in pain and walked with a limp for over 5 years. I tried in my hometown to get help, but nothing was found. The first visit with Dr. Hostin and his PA was life changing for me. Besides the fact that both were incredibly nice and knowledgeable, I felt heard and that they wanted to help me. I walk over 12,000 most days now—no limp and hardly any pain at all. I will forever be grateful for this medical staff. I thought I was just going to have to deal with the pain forever; they changed my life! I thank you—my family thanks you!

I can not express how thankful I am to have been referred to Dr. Hostin. I think SWSI is one of the best organized offices I have ever been a patient of, not just from the ease of appointment making but everything in between also, I not once left the office without knowing who and when to call for what. From the first time I met Dr. Hostin he made me feel comfortable. He instructed me of all his recommendations and treatment options along with any possible complications, and answered all of my questions and concerns in detail without ever making me feel ignorant or rushed. If you ever need a scoliosis revision surgery, I would highly recommend Dr. Hostin because of his knowledge & experience. I also recommend his friendly organized staff not just at the Dallas SWSI office location but the surgery coordinator that scheduled everything and helped every step of the way to Medical City Heart & Spine Hospital.

Just had my final followup visit with Dr. Hostin. I HIGHLY recommend this intelligent, expert revisionist surgeon! Two yrs ago at age 65 I was a crooked person with excruciating pain in my lower back and shooting pain down my left leg. After two surgeries failed to fix the problem, I finally got a tip from an anesthesiologist about an awesome surgeon in Dallas who eventually led me to Dr. Hostin. Well, thank God! Dr. Hostin knew exactly what needed to be done. It was major fusion surgery, opening me on the front and back, replacing the appliances of previous surgeries, adding tiny cages for damaged discs, pins to keep everything in place, etc. Since recovery, I continue to work (maintenance mechanic) and have a great quality of life now with no back pain for two years. The result is nothing short of a miracle. Hostin is my angel! His expertise and skills were the answer to my prayers and have allowed me to live a pain-free, healthy life.

Several years ago, Dr. Hostin performed scoliosis surgery on my back and did an excellent job!!! This week, I had occasion to visit him again about a matter that involved my former surgery. He was thoughtful and kind. He addressed my questions and offered a solution. He also found a new problem through an x-ray that I wasn't aware of. He addressed that as well, referring me to a specialist that could fix that problem. I am so grateful for all Dr. Hostin has done for me. I highly recommend him as an excellent Dr and surgeon!!!

I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondilitis (among other issues) and had tried numerous procedures. Unfortunately, none had been successful. I was referred to Dr. Hostin by my neurologist. From the time I made contact with the doctor and his staff, I feel my care was outstanding. Before performing surgery, he was extremely thorough, running many tests and having me see other specialists to be sure I could tolerate the very long surgery (approximately 7 hours). He took the time to answer all my questions, and I was given a thorough explanation of what would occur before, during and after the surgery. I had many questions, all of which were answered in a concise and understandable format (since I am not a medical professional) manner. My care throughout this "journey" has never been less than superlative. While there is no cure for this disease, he was able to give me a quality of life I had not had in many years. For me, he was a gift and recommend him without hesitation.

Last January 2017 I was having severe dizzy spells and falling when I turned my head a certain way. I have scoliosis and I knew a scoliosis specialist was my best bet at finding and treating any problem I may have. I called on a Monday and was seen on Friday. The office staff was very caring and efficient. MRI showed cord compression in my neck. Dr. Hostin performed a laminaplasty and gave me my life back.

Due to four fused areas and 4 back surgeries I leaned forward and I had back pain. I had a pain stimulator installed however still had some pain. I visited Dr. Hostin he said that he could make me straight and I would not need the pain stimulator. I had the surgery and removed the Stimulator. I now walk straight and my pain is gone.
