Need a Negative Star Option
I took my mother's husband in to see Richard Herold today. He was very rude and insulting and basically ignored me. I was trying to help my mother's husband as he has a cognitive impairment and doesn't always know the words to use to explain things. This "doctor" was probably the worst I've ever experienced. He dismissed my mother's husband's concerns outright. I would not recommend this "doctor" to anyone, ever. We will definitely not be going back.

Why don’t you include 0 stars! Horrible Doctor!
This man is totally incompetent! I have seen this Doctor for over 10 years with one health concern. I have a Thyroid problem and need continual, daily Thyroid meds to keep it under control. He has authorized that daily Thyroid O.1 mg medication for many years, based on routine Blood exam testing. Without explanation, he recently denied refill of my prescription request! No explanation or reason given when requested, other than saying, loudly and clearly, “You don’t need it any more”! I anticipated a Blood test, but he refused a Blood draw, and when asked why, he would not answer. I then said, “I have been told by you and other medical Doctors that the Thyroid medication is Life long, commitment, and should NEVER be stopped” ! His response…”Things Change” ! I requested information about the “change” so I could determine for myself if I should “stop”, but instead of answering he walked out of the room……..never to be seen again, at lease by me! My Advice? A highly opinionated, disagreeable doctor. He does not believe it the validity of PSA testing and does not provide any other prostate screening or health procedures. His opinions were many and some highly questionable. A very poor choice as a primary care physician.

I went to Dr. Herold for years before he moved to Salt Lake City. I would recommend him to anyone. I think that people sometimes mistake honesty for rudeness, because it’s not what they want to hear. I am a very senior person and don’t always like what I hear but I trust Doctor Herold completely. I have now moved to Salt Lake City and plan to go back to Dr Herold .

Now most people really don't like to go to see a doctor, but to see Dr. Herold and Mel is like visiting with friends. I trust him completely and I won't say Mel's real name.

My first visit with Dr. Herold was positive. He was very professional and cordial. He was thorough reviewing my past history and attending to current health concerns. Based on this first visit I would recommend him and the Senior Center at St. Marks to anyone needing a primary care physician.

He was rude to my mother. He said that she was failing the test (MMSE) miserably. She felt so bad about herself afterward. I was so disappointed. I had high hopes after finally finding a geriatric physician for my mom. He didn't offer any preventive medication or vaccines. Didn't tell us what to watch out for. Didn't give any insight into her medical condition(s).

I had my first visit with Dr. Herold today. Excellent doctor! He asked a lot of questions, gave me some great advice and opinions, and made me feel valued as a new patient. My former doctor went into corporate practice, so I needed a new family physician. Dr. Herold was the perfect choice.

I found Dr. Herold to be very friendly and easy to talk to about my health concerns. He is obviously very well educated and up to date on various treatments and the effectiveness of drugs available today. He was quick to provide me his opinion and recommendations concerning treatment of my medical concerns from a senior's point of view. I found his medical assistant Mel to be very friendly and she did a great job drawing my blood without any discomfort. I'd recommend him to a friend.

Mom is hard to get out to a doctor for a check-up and I anticipated the usual negative comments after her visit, but she was very impressed with him and is looking forward to having him as her primary care physician. It doesn't sound very exciting, but I'm thrilled she believes he has her best interests at heart. He was engaged and earnest, but has a very pleasant personality. I'm very happy she actually feels up-beat about a physician.
