Dr. Richard Drexelius, MD

Dr. Drex was my doctor from about 2000-2010. He was caring and knowledgeable and even offered end of life advice for care or my mother, although she was not his patient. I was sad when my insurance changed and I had to chose another doctor.

My husband and I have seen Dr. Drex for over 20 years. Last Wednesday, my son had a sore throat. On Friday, I called Dr. Drex’s office. I asked about a Monday appt. They stated that the schedule is full, but that they allow for a couple of acute cases – and recommended that I call first thing Monday morning. Monday morning, I called at 8 am. Because my son hasn’t seen Dr. Drex in over a year, he’s considered a New Patient, and they won’t be able to see him until July (4 mo). I explained that we’ve been coming in for over 20 years – still no. I asked if there was a “Common sense” override. Nope. She indicated they recommend that patients come in at least once a year to maintain “current patient” status. I really admire Dr. Drex, but I don’t have the patience or inclination re-establish myself as a ‘New Patient.’ I’ll find someone who values me a patients/customer. 20 years of considering him our family doctor is just gone – in a puff of bureaucratic red tape.

Love Dr Drexelius - the best family doctor we've ever had. He makes you feel as if he really knows you and understands your history. Spends, probably too much time with you. But it makes you know all your questions or issues have been addressed.

Dr. Drexelius always makes you feel comfortable, and takes the time to listen and explain what is his reasoning for his diagnosis, and possible treatment. It is relatively easy to get an appointment, and all of his staff are professional and personable.

I have been going to Dr. Drex ever since I moved up to Denver in 2019. He is probably the best general practitioner I have ever had. He listens, is not afraid to spend time discussing any issues, will call after hours and explain test results in as much detail as I want. The only thing that holds me back from recommending him even more is the fact that when others read this review it may lessen his availability for me to get a timely appointment due to subsequent increased demand!

I had terrible headaches off and on for 8 years with no real diagnosis of what I was suffering from. It took Dr. Drexilius about 10 minutes to reach the correct diagnosis. From there he and his staff developed a treatment plan and took my calls no matter how frequent (very frequent). I couldn't have asked for more resources than they provided me. From a more general perspective, this entire staff is awesome. They made time for me the day I called and the process was quick and painless. In summary this office is composed of friendly folks who provide top tier service. Thank you all so much for your help!

Waiting 4 months for an appointment is not reasonable. Called in August 2019 and first available is in December 2019. How can a doctor have 5 stars for "Scheduling" with this kind of a backlog. I will find another doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Drexelius for over 15 years and he is caring, very knowledgeable, and most down to earth. He has gone out of his way to help and figure out what any problem might be and willing to do things on the spot. He cares about you as an individual and not just another number. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Drex has been seeing our entire family for many years. He takes the time to truly listen and not just rush you in and out. We have referred many family and friends to his practice.

Dr. Drexelius has served our community for a long time. He is honest, helpful and sincere. He understands Patient's needs. His team and staff are great at customer service.

Dr. Drexelius is the most caring doctor I have ever had in many years of seeing many different doctors.
