Did not listen to anything I said, no empathy, disturbing, impossible to reach on phone, not concerned of drug prices

I waited 3 months for an appointment, saw him for 15 minutes, was gioven a very limited number of blood tests and was sent away for three more months. I protested that nothing had been done despite abnormal testing so medications were aded. It took Dtr. Dodd three weeks to review some very simply testosterone lab results. He did no follow up regarding new steroid medications for Addison's disease and brushed me off for another three months. In addition, the pracice forgot about me in their waiting area, where I waited for 75 minutes for a thre minute blood draw. I became COVID-19 infected as a result. The office told the Dept of Health that this could not have happened. So, nine months after being referred, I am actually worse off regarding hormonal issues and am in quaranteen. What is the prime directive for MDs, "Do no harm?" Dr Dodd apparently missed that training in medical school, but he has paid close attention to the business model of his practice group.

Unhappy with Dodd – Jul 14, 2020

I needed a refill on my Synthroid. I have been a patient of his for the past eight years. Over the past 2 years he has been nearly impossible to communicate with. Neither him or his CMA respond to messages through the electronic portal they push on their patients. Not that they answer phone calls either. His medical assistant spent 10 minutes talking over me, barely letting me get a word in, and kept repeating that she couldn’t help me with a refill because it had been too long since my last appointment (it in fact, had not). Then she hung up on me. I will not be back. And I will actively discourage anyone that I know from going to this place. The staff are always rude, disorganized, and the doctors take an extraordinary amount of time getting back to you (if at all). I have spent the last six months asking for confirmation on prescriptions, labs, and begging for an appointment to have my thyroid panel checked because of symptoms. After eight years, I would expect better.

I found Dr Dodd to be very concerned over my current issues. He listened and gave me time to ask questions. He was prompt in providing lab results and appropriate follow up. Refreshing to find a specialist that will listen and allow more than one question.

I am in the medical profession and I was very satisfied with my appointment with Dr. Dodd. He did a thorough assessment, reviewed my lab work, ordered diagnostic testings. He really knew a lot about the endocrine system. I was very impressed! He spent a lot of time with me, collecting information and listening to my health story. He was very kind and compassionate.

Patient, Asheville in Arden, NC – May 13, 2016

My mother was a patient of Dr. Dodd. While she liked him personally, his office is yet another thing to deal with. She was notified (not at an appointment where the medication could be explained to her) but by the pharmacy that an unknown prescription ($120) had been called in to her pharmacy. Not knowing why this was ordered she called to find out. The office nurse did not return her phone calls. Against her wishes the rx was filled and sent to her. She is out that money without an explanation.
