THE ONLY DOCTOR FOR ME.
Dr. Charles has been my physician for about five years now. Initially I was attended to by a PA. Once, I asked to see Dr. Charles and he has attended to me since. He is extremely straight forward with me and gives immediate feedback on any testing and or questions I might have. I was also surprised that he personally responded to off hour calls I have made. To be perfectly honest I can now credit him with preserving my life. We have discussed care I received from specialists. In his opinion one had underperformed. He also did seperate testing for another potential problem and, as a result, referred me to another specialist. In both instances, the doctors discovered life threatening issues requiring treatment. Doctor Charles has earned my faith and trust as well as my forever loyalty.

Dr. Richard Charles is Very rude
Last night i was rushed to the hospital due to chest pains the doctor at the ER told me to call my primary doctor to make an appointment. I left a message with emergency after hours because it was on a weekend Dr. Richard Charles returned my call and was very rude and dismissive. I would never go back to his office again or refer anyone to him again…

Dr Charles seemed like a great doctor when he was with Buffalo Medical Group. Unfortunately his goal at General Physicians is to run a doctor's office like an assembly line. You won't get an extra few minutes if you have a question or concern, but you might get to see him promoting his company on the news or a podcast, at least he's more pleasant in those situations than he is in person. There are some good PA's and nurses, but his office staff are absolutely terrible, no one wants to be helpful or do their jobs. It must be an awful work environment. A word to the wise, if Dr. Charles tells your mother she has stage 4 cancer give her a hug before he concludes the appointment because there's someone waiting outside the door to get you out of the room immediately.

I felt very well taken care of at Dr. Richard Charles office. I had 2 very good appointments with Shawn Campbell. I left Buffalo Medical Group because when I was sick with Covid my Dr. never return any of my calls. I have called Dr. Charles office and got a response the same day. Very truly Ruth McCarthy

"Would I recommend Dr Charles?" That's a hard no. Yep, gonna join the club and share my poor experiences with this guy. He is incredibly rushed, barely looks at you while he's typing away at his computer, doesn't bother to explain a thing, also seems to have no idea how is office is managed. He also simply does not listen to what you are saying and makes his own assumptions about your lifestyle. It might be kind of funny if my precious money and time weren't involved. My friends and I had a good laugh about what he wrote in my visit summary: completely wrong and the exact opposite of what I had explained to him. Also he's just plain old-school and gives extremely outdated and flat out wrong and dangerous nutrition advice. Gonna go find someone who knows how to listen and learn. Please don't bother with this guy and find yourself someone who wants to help you.

I recommend him all the time. As you can tell by these ratings, he runs hot and cold temperamentally speaking, but his medical knowledge, judgement, and experience are above most if not all in this area. He doesn't mind working hard for you if it is the right thing to do, not lazy.

He was highly recommended to me by two former patients. But after the first visits I am unimpressed and agree with others that he is condescending. He dissed one of my doctors and had me thinking that doctor was incompetent, which put me in a turmoil for several days. I did some research and learned that I had nothing to fear from that other doctor. Maybe it was some personal animosity he harbored against that person. But in any case he should have kept his thoughts to himself. I like his P.A. Robin.

Have been looking for a doctor for some time. Often she'll like all they want to do is prescribed medicine. His nursing staff took the time to get to know me. Figured out all my medication questions. He spent a long time with me trying to understand what treatment was best. Referred me to tests and other doctors that have helped improve my health I have sent my whole family to him

My husband and I left this physician awhile back. The one star reviews ARE accurate! I add the ff: He dropped a medication that was prescribed by a specialist (infectious diseases) without consulting him. (The specialist was LIVID when he found out.) Sending in a review to alert potential patients.

Dr. Charles has a very keen sense of medicine. He not only is very knowledgeable but is able to reiterate my issues in a way I understand. He has helped me tremendously and is very thorough with his tests and follow ups. Additionally, his referrals to other specialists is top notch as they also have remediated issues that concerned me. I strongly believe he is well worth the wait. His receptionist staff is very professional and puts your mind at ease.

I have been going to Dr Charles for several years. I was really happy with him. He was knowledgeable and seemed truly concerned and attentive. However, the past year, his office has become so busy, that he can't give you more than 30 seconds. It has become increasingly difficult to get an appointment, then once you are there, he gets you in and out, and there is no follow up. I am looking for a new primary.
