Dr. Richard Bennett, MD

First and foremost, Dr. Richard Bennett (University of Michigan Sparrow) is the best urologist that I have had the pleasure of working with from any hospital or medical practice. I had a severe incontinence issue which Dr. Richard Bennett addressed by performing a very successful ProAct procedure for which I am very thankful and appreciative. Now, almost a year after having the surgery performed and two balloon adjustments my control has vastly improved. Dr. Bennett is constantly monitoring my progress and will continue to make necessary adjustments. I like many others are very fortunate to have a doctor like Dr. Bennett.

Had surgery with him. Very disappointed in the results, after care and follow up. Avoid.

Very bad bedside manner, did not answer all of my questions and I've heard since that some of the answers he did give were downright wrong.

Saw him because I believed the positive reviews. This was a mistake that will be reflected on my body for the rest of my life now and all they can say is that I signed waivers and they're protected.

Dr. Bennett was referred to my husband by a urologist that I work with at Ascension Providence in Novi. Appointment was made a few months out which was fine. About a month later the office called and said they had a sooner appointment so he switched his appointment and a week before that appointment they called to reschedule now a month later than original appointment. Very frustrating to say the least. Asked to speak with an office manager and was never contacted.

He seems like he knows his material. My problem with him though, is that he is EXTREMELY stingy when it comes to pain medication. He gave me 3 days worth and expected it to last 11. After a procedure when I was in extreme pain, he said my 1 remaining pill would be enough and refused to prescribe a few more. He is obviously far more worried about everyone being a potential drug dealer, than with patients looking for comfort.

Very willing to listen and respond to concerns and questions regarding procedures to be performed. Excellent training and experience levels. Great bedside manner-concise but caring. Staff is incredibly courteous and eager to assist in pre and post op situations.
