Dr. Ricardo Simeon, MD

I recently delivered a baby and Dr. Simeon was the resident anesthesiologist available. This was my 2nd epidural so I knew what to expect and had completed the required classes. I had a few questions and found him to have awful bedside manner. He answered my questions hatefully and was even nasty to my nurse, who was trying to locate fetal heart rate since my contractions were causing my baby’s heart rate to drop. He came into my room with a horrible attitude and was very disrespectful towards myself and the nurse caring for me. It unprofessional and unprovoked behavior. I found his conduct to be alarming.

I first met Dr. Simeon when I was scheduled for a procedure in the hospital. We spoke on the phone, then in the hospital. He listened to my concerns and was very willing to work with me. He was good at explaining different options and why he felt one was better over another.

My wife and I were giving birth at a local hospital, my wife requested an epidural and Dr. Simeon was on staff. The nurse came in to the room and advised me that Dr. Simeon refused to bill my insurance company and insisted that I pay him cash out of pocket. I didn't argue too much because she was in pain, but I also don't carry around $500 in cash around. I ended up having to leave my wife in labor at the hospital and pull $500 cash out of the bank before he would perform her epidural, which is
