Dr.Martinez has an extreme devotion to his patients-First off- I'd like you to put your hand over your mouth and nose and hold it for 15 seconds, that's the way I felt for 3 long excruciating years, upon standing and walking. I couldn't breath. My heart would beat faster, but I could get no air. Just walking 12 feet to my kitchen I'd be out of breath, struggling for air. I dreaded getting up and going to the bathroom, only 15 feet from my chair, because I knew halfway there, I would be grabbing the wall and stopping to catch my breath. Finally my PCP sent me to DR. Martinez, 'he gave me my life back' after diagnosing me with POTS disease. He listened to me, and knew exactly what I was going through. I didn't think this little pull he put me on would make a difference, but before I knew it I walked to my kitchen-I was ecstatic I called my children and said 'guess who just walked in the kitchen without oxygen ME! Your Moma!! and they're like what??yep me! Thanks You Dr. Martinez!!!

I accompanied my husband recently when he went to see Dr. Martinez on a referral from our primary Doctor's office. My husband was extremely anxious and concerned prior to going in, not knowing what to expect and weather or not this particular Doctor would be able to discover what exactly was ailing him. Right off the bat, we were welcomed by his friendly and competent staff and when Dr. Martinez walked into the waiting room, he welcomed us and within a short time, made my husband feel at ease. We are very happy with Doctor Martinez and would definitely recommend him to anyone who is searching for an excellent cardiologist in our area.

I have used Dr. Martinez for many years. He is a good physician, knowledgeable and caring. However, as of the past year, it is nearly impossible to book and appointment with Dr. Martinez. I keep getting referred to a Physician's Assistant and have not seen Dr. Martinez in nearly a year. My appointments with the P.A. keep getting rescheduled. My appointment in May has now been bounced to September after two reschedules. When I ask for an appointment with Dr. Martinez, I am always told he won't be in the office. I am presently looking for a new Cardiologist with whom I can book an appointment as I am having some blood pressure issues that need to be reviewed by a Cardiologist.

I recommed Dr Ricardo Martinez
Having had my first heart attack at age 49 my condition progressed to require 9 coronary artery stents over several years to deal with arterial blockages. Dr. Ricardo Martinez of Charlotte heart and vascular, Port Charlotte, Fl, has been my cardiologist for the last 17 years and he placed most all those stents as needed. I like that he does not do unnecessary tests, but what is necessary. In caring for me he kept me from an unnecessary cervical surgery and he kept me from a premature open heart by-pass surgery until it was actually necessary and beneficial 3 years later. He and his team, have been attentive and quickly responsive to my heart care needs.

Dr. Martinez is an amazing physician. He is extremely competent, professional, caring, interested in you and listens. I have been under his care for over 10 years and he saved my life. He talks to you and offers great advice/recommendations and if you listen you will live longer and much happier. Dr. Martinez discovered I needed open heart surgery and that literally saved my life. I can reach out to him at any time and he is available to assist with any problem I am experiencing. He also treats my wife and several of our very close friends.. Just recently had a situation concerning my wife over a weekend and Dr. Martinez responded immediately. That is one of the things that makes him the best and sets him apart from other doctors is that he is available when you need him and he genuinely cares.... Very hard to find in life.

I love Dr Martinez and think he is the best doctor ever but for some reason they keep changing my appointment ( 5 times now) I realize some of this is due to COVID 19 ! However 5 times is absolutely ridiculous! I was just leaving this morning when my appointment was changed. Believe me I am not happy!!! I was given the option of a telephone visit, which will not work!

Dr. Martinez effectively saved my life back three years ago, I went into his office after a recommendation from my primary Dr. Juan Masi- Dr. Martinez immediately had me on a treadmill after I explained my issues performing a stress test that day in his Punta Gorda office, and although I actually "passed" the test he determined it was in my interest to have a angioplasty for assurance purposes (based on my explained symptoms and this was done 5 days after my initial visit to him), in discovery I had a 99% PLAD blockage (Widow Maker)!! Dr. Martinez inserted a stent and I am a 3 year survivor at this point (of 59 years of age). He is a most caring and professional doctor, as an aside Bob is his excellent physicians assistant who as with most doctors these days takes work load items and based on what is going on can have you right back to the doctor as required, a front line care party -highly qualified! Thank you Dr. Martinez for keeping me alive today! 12/04/2019

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Martinez for several years. He is a very caring physician and explains everything to you so that you can understand. He is extremely easy to talk to and treats you with respect. Very knowledgeable and will be very honest as far as your treatment options and also what you need to do as a patient to improve your health. I definitely recommend him to anybody that is in need of a "Great" Cardiologist!

You can not get in to see Dr. Martinez even being a year round resident. My wife was admitted to our community hospital for potential heart attack. They released her after observing over night and giving morphine, no meds prescription. She.was in.pain all weekend, Charlotte vascular has no.on call doctor over the weekend. My wife called Monday morning for an appt with her Heart Doctor. After waiting for 4.hours she.got a.call back with an appointment with "Bob" who is bob. So what the heck is going on she has to sit here in pain and I have to worry that she can make it for two more days, for what, Dr Martinez is going to lose a out of year round patients because of this.

I found out about Dr. Martinez via social media. Being new to the area and needing a heart Dr. I decided to give him a try. This decision saved my life! Dr. Martinez saw me immediately and recommended a heart cath, which verified some very serious, life threatening concerns. His attention to detail is amazing, as is his skill as a doctor. He inserted the stents that saved my life, and I and my family are forever grateful. I cannot recommend Dr. Martinez highly enough. He should be your Dr.!!
