Very thorough, and listens
A previous neurologist had given up on finding the source of my cognitive decline. Dr. Maron listened and discussed possibilities with me. She partnered with me in finding the source of the problem and made sure I was in agreement with her suggested plan. She is thorough and approaches problems with an open mind.

Nasty attitude
I went to her after waiting for months just for her to be 30 minutes late and rushed me from the room. I'm dealing with a mix of health issues and because I'm young I'm being dismissed!! I was enraged at her office and how she's treating me. There's a few things I can say but won't.

Professional
I was very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Maron. She never rushed any appointments I had with her and was willing to listen to everything I had to say. She was very thorough in providing the testing, medication trials and doctor referrals I needed to help resolve my medical issues. It was close to a 2 year process due to the complexity of my medical condition, but in the end I feel I got exactly the care I needed, and am doing much better because of it. I now see her for yearly follow ups. I highly recommend Dr. Maron

Financially Ruinous
She was great, but shows in-network, but isn’t. Now I have a bill for $9000.

Makes a diagnosis by looking at you from a distanc
I tried my best describing to her all my chronic pain issues and was there to get a 2nd opinion on me having Trigeminal neuralgia. I spent my time going to have tests done that have no relationship with the diagnosis I had asked her about. She suggested that I see a dermatologist for the swelling of my face and scalp. She showed no concern for me or my health. She would not respond to questions I asked her in person or over the patient portal. I called to report her cold and belittling bedside manner. The patient advocate for UAB clinic also commented on the fact that Dr Maron did not answer any of my emails. I have been going to so many Dr's over the past 17 years and never showed any disrespect to anyone especially the doctor. However, I did tell her honestly how I felt about her rude behavior and lack of helping or explaining my situation. I had planned on relocating all my doctors to UAB but will never use the hospital again. She caused me and my family so much stress which cau

Dr. Marin took time to listen and explain to me what she was looking for in making a DX. She ordered my labs and diagnostic test quickly and explained the procedure of getting my results and also made sure I had made an account in patient portal. I definitely felt like there was a plan put in place for my care and was very appreciative. I would recommend Dr. Marin.

She doesn't listen. When results for my CAT scan were neg, she said she believed that my symptoms were caused by a drug I was taking. The one drug I specifically told her I discontinued two months prior to the appointment and was why I believed my symptoms had reappeared. I had several symptoms that had gotten worse over time and was concerned. I was not interested in starting any new medicine or going back to the old one. Makes me question everything. I mean, they're looking your chart, right?
