Dr. Reza Rahbar-Semnani, MD

Dr. Rahbar-Semnani performed an extensive colon procedure for my wife on Nov. 25. We did some research to locate a colorectal surgeon and his many accolades were well founded. Thankfully, my wife has had no complications or infections and started to feel better within days after decades of colon issues. We are very grateful for Dr. Rahbar and his team as well as Rex Hospital for their commitment to excellence in keeping infections under control and dedication to their patients. This wonderful physician listens well, explains things thoroughly, and answers questions patiently and in a completely unrushed manner. He exudes confidence which is very reassuring when arranging for surgery. It is hard to imagine that any other colorectal surgeon could be better than he! His office staff members are all great and we especially commend the scheduler Gina and his nurse Melody. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly around the clock to make this possible for us!

Dr. Rahbar and his team are exceptional and very caring. He may come across as very serious but he cares for his patients. He took very good care of me and removed an area of cancer from my lower colon. Just finding out I had colon cancer was overwhelming and stressful. He was very informative and made me feel as comfortable as possible with the procedure. Now that I am post op I am so very grateful for him and his team. Thank you for making me cancer-free!

Dr. Rahbar performed a lower anterior resection on me in October 2021. His care and concern for me as a patient were very comforting and important. His skill in the surgical portion of my treatment was exceptional. Follow up after the surgery in the rehabilitation process has been professional, caring and encouraging to me. I rely on his judgement as the process continues.

Dr. Rahbar was exceptionally kind, compassionate and professional in dealing with my 96 year old mother. He was able to explain the Altimeter surgery and anesthesia that will stop her rectal bleeding (from a recal prolapse) and greatly improve her quality of life. I would highly recommend Dr. Rahbar and am so appreciative of his professionalism, responsiveness and excellent bedside manner!

Dr. Rahbar is the best surgeon that I could have asked for. He is very knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, and genuine. He did three procedures for me in the past 9 months. Each time, Dr. Rahbar took the time to explain to me in detail what was happening and how things worked. He showed a level of compassion and care that is unparalleled in any doctor I have ever met. He is a doctor who listens to his patients, reassures his patients, and genuinely cares for the well-being of his patients. He calmed me when I had anxiety about things related to my surgery and took an interest in me and my case. I have often heard that surgeons can be cold but Dr. Rahbar proves that wrong. He has given me a level of care that is above and beyond the call of duty. I have never trusted a doctor more than I trust him. Dr. Rahbar sees you as a person rather than just a patient. I could say a million good things about him. Choosing him to be your surgeon will be a decision you will not regret.
