Dr. Reena Varade, MD

Ive seen her one time for a skin cancer screening. It was very hands off as if she did not have time for me. I did have another appointment scheduled but had to cancel and reschedule due to a family emergency. It's been brought to my attention that because I did not give a 24 hour notice on the cancelling, I will be charged $50.00. So please know, that there is no grace for someone who cancels in less than 24 hours due to another family emergency that needed immediate attention. Her $50 is more important than the patient!

I've seen Dr. Varade twice now, each time for precancerous skin lesions on my face. She removed them each time, without leaving a scar. She also took time to listen and respond to my questions and to discuss with me my family history of skin cancer, and how best I might address it. I'm very grateful for her professionalism and her social intelligence. I'd had unhappy previous experiences with two other dermatologists in Joliet, so the contrast is striking. One dermatologist removed a similar precancerous lesion from my face several years ago, but left a scar. The other, 15 years ago, quickly diagnosed eczema on a big toe, despite my suggestion in repeated fruitless visits over a year, that the problem was fungus. After an excruciating year, yet another dermatologist listened and successfully treated my fungus. Finding a doctor who takes time and listens makes all the difference. Dr. Varade does.
