I'm writing this review a few years after my one & only appointment with this provider, which ought to be telling of the impact the encounter had. I find it interesting that one of his specialties is "diagnosing and treating congenital heart defects" as he was incredibly dismissive and belittling when I came to him for just that, diagnosis of a congenital heart defect. I'm surprised that we were able to diagnose it, given that he was so adamant on my not needing the diagnostic procedure, only signing the order after I brought up extensive research validating my concerns, and only indicating that I did in fact have the condition vaguely and with a great deal of condescension. If this provider is your only option, expect to self-advocate and soothe his ego quite a bit to get your needs met; if he's not, I'd highly recommend you seek your care elsewhere.

Dr. Carlson was very knowledgeable, approachable, open and non-judgmental. He really listened to what I had to say and explained everything clearly. I never felt rushed and was able to discuss all of my thoughts and concerns. He fit me in for a stress test that day and the technician was very nice and professional as well. He has a very positive focus.

He is knowledgeable, friendly and will answer all questions without seeming to be in a hurry. His PA in practice with him, David Groves, is also very nice and easy to talk with.
