Bad and worst
This doctor writesprescription without seeing the patient. He does not even callback to rectify his mistakes, hence its a policy and practice norms to against patient to perform services at city of hope. Beware of money making scheme and holding ur insurance authorization hostage.

Doesn’t do his due diligence
My husband went to see him for NSCLC after seeing another oncologist. After asking him several times to be his primary care oncologist, he would not even reply. He would just say I will discuss treatment with the other oncologist. I called his office, and was told he’s too busy, but won’t come out and say that because of his pride….?!! So my husband’s oncologist and Dr Salgia didn’t always agree with treatment - leaving us confused and having to decide which treatment to go with. Terrible experience.

Lack of Respect and Contradicting
This clown of an MD has no respect for his patient's (my dad) time. My dad has stage 4 non small cell lung cancer and has gone through 2 different lines of chemo since Oct '22. He was referred to Salgia by his oncologist after completing his 2nd line chemo with no response to see if he fits any clinical trials. During his 1st consult with Salgia, all clinical symptoms, current exam results, and PMH were presented. We returned for a 2nd appt to discuss trials to which my dad was "disqualified" b/c of his clinical symptoms aka swelling BLE, which was presented upon the initial consult. If this was a reason to DQ him from trials, why weren't we told this from the getgo instead of waiting another 4 weeks to tell us this. During this 4 weeks of waiting my dad could've been getting chemo instead of letting the cancer continue to spread. I was and am extremely upset and disappointed with Salgia's lack of respect and courtesy for my dad's time, which he does not have much of. CLOWN.

Dr. Salgia is an internationally renown specialist in lung cancer. We went to see him for a second opinion for my husband who is Stage 4 extensive with mets. The whole experience from scheduling the appointment, to seeing this humble, knowledgable, kind doctor was so stress free and encouraging. He explained the diagnosis very well to us, told us he knew our oncologist and the the was very capable and offered to see us again and also to work side by side with our cancer team near home. His kindness and compassion were so comforting and something you don’t see often in medicine today. We were honored to have an appointment with such a highly regarded doctor and researcher and are grateful that he offered to be available to us and our medical team as needed. He is wonderful.
