Dr Vazquez performed an incredibly complex 9 level spinal fusion with a scoliosis correction. His level of care, detail and expertise made this a total success. His entire team is fabulous.

Amazing doctor on so many different levels not to mention his very efficient staff namely, Vanessa Borrego, Aylin A. Rojas Antunez and Kevin A. Leiva! My husband had a 7 hr operation and Dr Vasquez not only straightened my husband’s spine but also fixed 12 vertebrae. There is not enough space on this medium to tell you all the positives of this doctor, from his bedside manner, professionalism, excellent communication, but suffice to say Dr Vasquez is clearly passionate about his field! My husband continues to move forward in his recovery since the operation was 2 ½ weeks ago. Praying that the good doctor continues to excel in his profession and others will be equally as grateful when their quality of life is improved exponentially!

In my case I wanted to express my sincere thanks to you for your heip in treating my back . Your highly attuned attention caught many diagnostic inconsistencies, allowing you to tailor my surgery as you saw fit, cutting edge “see what I did there” versus keeping it standard.It is very likely that I might not be here today, as far going through with the surgery were it not for your expertise.You bedside manner was amazing and I appreciated everything you did to help make my surgical experience as pleasant as possible. Dr. Vasquez is very knowledgeable, and he takes time with the patient to listen and to explain conditions and treatments, we need more doctors like him in this world!

I was referred to Dr. Vasquez by my PT after years of noticeable grinding in my lower back and a sudden sciatica pain and difficulty walking. At first, I didn't know whether to trust a younger doctor to something as important as my back. In my experience older doctors with more experience have more knowledge. I decided that a younger doctor with a steadier hand was the best way to go. Dr. Vasquez turned out to be gentle, kind, warm, knowledge, very well trained, and a genuinely great human being! I highly recommend him and South Miami Hospital for any back related surgeries. I just turned 50 so ’m certain I will need further surgeries for other vertebrae and there's no other doctor I would consider. I have called all my friends that are currently in pain and are putting off surgery to ask them to reconsider. I am 2 months post op from a lumbar spine fusion and the scar is barely visible, I'm back at work, back at the gym, and feeling 10 years younger.

I can never say enough words to properly thank Dr Raul Vazquez and Orlando Bourzac and their team. According to my MRI my spine was extremely compromised. Dr Vazquez recommended Surgery for L4&L5. I must say I had no reference on Dr Vazquez other than his CV but I just put it in his & God's hands. I can say immediately after surgery I had minimal pain or discomfort went home next day for home health and PT. Never missed a beat. Nurse told me scar was healing beautifully and PT repeated exercises and noted how my walking & standing improved. If you see Dr Vazquez definitely choose him and his team, they inform you, are caring and considerate and most of all they are very kind and competent.
