Primary care physician
Doctor D has been my primary care provider for some time now and is truly special. First and foremost she is a truly good person; always providing caring and compassionate care. She is always there for me responding to any and all crises at the speed of light. Doctor D's bedside manner is superb and she and all her staff unfailingly provide timely and competent care of the first order. God bless this tip-top doctor and everyone else at the Joliet IL VA clinic!

Dr. Downing is fantastic. She's personable and caring. She takes the time to listen. I moved out of the area years ago, but continued seeing her for several years after that. After a few years of traveling back and forth, I wasn't able to continue making the drive for a few years... Now I'm going back to her rather than find someone new by me despite the 90 minute drive

I have an illness that is proving hard to diagnose but Dr. Downing has never given up on finding out the true cause. She is always honest- I don't know what it is, YET, but I will find out what it is. Some Dr.'s would just call it something even if it's wrong. When I have to go into the hospital she calls the Hospitalist and talks to them about my care and goes over their report with me at my follow-up visit. She has wonderful bedside manner and will take as long as she needs at the visit

Dr Downing always takes the time to talk to me and discuss different aspects of my health. She remembers me from one appt to the next. My husband came along with me for an appointment, and after observing my visit, he was impressed enough with Dr Downing to switch to her care.
