Dr. Benson was the first step towards the proper treatment of my traumatic brain injury. Having a TBI makes it very difficult to communicate and be heard, but Dr. Benson recognized my needs and referred me among his network of specialists to treat the different aspects of my injury. One negative review mentioned that him doing this was nepotism, but that is what a great doctor does. Dr. Benson has a large network of fantastic specialists and he refers patients accordingly. Treatment of the brain is multifactorial; a neurologist cannot simply solve the issue alone and has to count on their colleagues for a multi-disciplinary approach in order to be successful. Additionally, his treatment methods are far from outdated, as he and some of his colleagues are on the forefront of CTE and brain injury research. I feel truly lucky to have found him. His communication style is something to get used to. He doesn't sugarcoat his thoughts and opinions and is very direct. However, this is what I w

I was referred to Dr. Benson after seeing another neurologist who wasn’t at all helpful. After a brain injury you want to be heard (my patience was thin) and thank goodness I was referred. With his treatments I was able to return to work and get some relief. Before seeing Dr. Benson, I wasn’t able to concentrate for longer than 15-20min, I had light sensitivity and problems with my vision. He did a series of tests and his team of specialists helped me to: experience less migraines, get specialized lenses, and I am able to concentrate longer and spend time with my family (what matters most). I know what it’s like to have a brain injury and I do not wish it on anyone. But, if you need a neurologist, you need the best possible care and I would recommend Dr. Benson.

His treatment plan was outdated and not used. QEEG are not very accurate and also hormone medication from a doctor he recommended is not at all good and will cause bone growth in adults that are fully matured. So if you want larger hand, face and whatever else and want to be treated horribly and spoken down to, he is just that. Arrogant, misleading and so much more. Also if you have a brain injury there are doctors who will listen and have a better understanding and care and won’t take advantage of you. Keep looking for someone other then this person I would not ever recommend anyone to him ever

Dr. Benson is quirky maybe in his personality, but he knows his stuff. He knew what was wrong before I even had testing. He referred me to other Drs that no one else would have sent me to. He was more excited than me when we found answers. He is thorough in paperwork beforehand and in his initial interviewing. There were mistakes in my history on his report he was more than willing to change them. I'm blessed to have found him. He wanted to do a test that is expensive he said we would hold off for a while in case it isn't needed.

Dr. Benson is the worst doctor ever. He lies to you, makes you believe you are worse off then you are. He has attorneys for friends and wants you to use them. Seems to care about money and not the patients. Don't waste your time, find REAL doctor who tells you the TRUTH! I was told he was a Charlitin and I didn't believe it but being on my case ende and he dropped me as a patient as fast as he could, for NO good reasons at all. Based Vally I wasn't a big enough payday for him to keep around!

Very behind in treatments. I changed to a different neurologist who was personable, actually tested me and went for the root of my problem rather than focus on treating symptoms. I now have hope.

Dr Benson is focused more on CTE than general neurology. He makes good referrals but after the first visit don't waste anymore time. He is arrogant. Especially when he does not know the etiology of what is wrong neurologically. He will dismiss other professional diagnoses, particularly when he is not familiar with the diagnosis. He is quick to refer for psychological and psychiatric care when he does not know what is wrong. He is inaccurate in his records and will not correct his errors.
