Compassionate, Knowledgeable, Skilled
Hearing that one has breast cancer is scary with so many what ifs and unknowns. He met fear with facts. He met questions with answers. He sat down with me and my husband, unhurried. I'm certain he has done this thousands of times, but it was my first time, and I felt I was the center of his attention and best efforts from the first moment. He was very candid in his description of the whole surgical process. Dr. Croshaw's skill as an oncological surgeon is what was needed, but the compassion and calm resolve seemed to wrapped the whole experience in peace. He made a visit with me and my family before surgery, in the holding area. Again reviewing the day's events and solid expectations. He encouraged questions and met my residual fret with confidence. The morning after surgery, he personally phoned me to ask how I was doing. Who does that? My post-op follow up visit, unhurried, informative, reviewed where we started and where we are now. He is a gentleman and a gentle surgeon.

Takes his time explaining your case
The first time we met after the initial breast biopsy, we spent an hour together as he explained my results and what would happen, my options, in a way I could understand and make my own choices, answering my questions. The next time we met after an MRI and biopsy indicated I needed a full mastectomy, he explained in a kind, compassionate way, what would happen going forward. It has been four weeks since the surgery, and I am healing ahead of schedule, and am satisfied with the whole team at Blount Memorial, who I will continue to recommend for their caring and capable care.

Pre-op, surgery, post-op care excellent.
Dr. Croshaw spent time to go over all options. Called personally to check on me post op. So blessed to have him as my surgeon. I do not recall much about the surgery (thankfully) but I remember Dr. Croshaw coming to pre-op and post op to check on me. Took time on office visits to explain options.

A wonderful, empathetic surgeon
I highly recommend Dr. Croshaw. When I got the unexpected and frightening news after my annual mammogram, Dr. Croshaw quickly consulted with both me and my husband. He spent a lot of time with us and answered questions as well as clearly explained the journey I would be on to treat the cancer. On the day of surgery, I was able to calm my fears with the knowledge he had provided in advance. The incision site has healed nicely and the scar has made a remarkable recovery as it fades. I felt supported by his whole team and deeply appreciate the respect he showed me as well as his obvious concern about my treatment. He did something a lot of doctors don't always do well--he listened!

GREATEST DOCTOR EVER!
Dr. Croshaw did my breast cancer surgery in January 2022. He explained all of the procedure thoroughly, and I didn't even need to ask any questions. He was with me even at the beginning of my surgery just to be of comfort! Two weeks after surgery I thought I had a problem. I called his office, and he saw me the same day. He reassured me that nothing was wrong. I have had an excellent recovery due to his care, knowledge and compassion. I can highly recommend Dr. Croshaw!!

At a very difficult time Dr. Croshaw was the most caring and wonderful Doctor.. He explained all my options in detail, guided us in what would be the best option for us and answered all questions including ones I did not know to ask. He was with us before the surgery itself took place and after to tell us what had had to be done. His care afterward was equally wonderful. I would never consider any other surgeon.

Dr Randal Croshaw performed my surgery for breast cancer. His experience, knowledge, and ability to fully answer all questions I had, and even go beyond that giving me information on the full process of the procedure, put my mind at ease during a extremely stressful time. And helped me to make informed decisions. I am very thankful to have had him as my surgeon.

Upon receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer, I was referred to Dr. Randal Croshaw by a trusted family physician. From the very first meeting with him and his staff, I felt confident that I was not alone in this fight, and that I was going to receive the very best care available. Because of his extensive knowledge of this disease, he was able to, first, explain the situation I faced, and then offer a plan of attack. His thoroughness and attention to detail set my fears to rest, and I was able to move forward on a path to become cancer-free. I am now four months out from surgery and I have to agree with Dr. Croshaw...there is life after breast cancer.

Dr. Croshaw performed my surgery and made me comfortable from the very first appointment. He took his time in explaining everything from my biopsy, diagnosis, surgery and possible Radiation option decision. He saw me shortly after my biopsy and scheduled by surgery shortly thereafter. He and his staff were very compassionate, caring and friendly at all times. They were thorough in answering questions and listening to me. I truly felt valued during the entire process.

As one who is in her eighty's, the idea of breast cancer can be overwhelming. Dr. Croshaw put me completely at ease, offering the confidence I needed to trust him; and he was the right person for me. The online reviews were just what I needed to hear. I had no recommendations from anyone else facing surgery, but I chose the best surgeon, by far. No after-effects, no problems. He's the best. You can count on it.

Dr. Croshaw is the most caring surgeon I have ever had. Being diagnosed with breast cancer is very scary. Dr. Croshaw explained in detail the type I had and all about the lymph node biopsy and lumpectomy I would be having and answered all questions we had. His office staff was wonderful also!

Dr. Croshaw was my surgeon when I had a bilateral mastectomy for breast cancer (August 2020). I had an excellent recovery, which attests to his surgical skill, but even more outstanding was his compassion and care before the surgery as I debated various surgical and aftercare options. He was very patient and talked with me until I felt comfortable with the decision. He is also very proactive in working to prevent lymphedema after surgery and coordinates with the Blount Memorial Hospital MEND Clinic to assess the risk of lymphedema and educate patients in preventative measures.
