The office is poorly managed where interning medical students are used as administrative staff; it seems like a strange application of their skills and that they aren't well trained in these roles. Dr. Farboudamanesch is fine as a doctor, he seems to be invested in improving your well being but ultimately the copays for visiting were very high for the care I received, i.e. my ultimate care regiment is to eat prunes and take lactaid. My problem is with how the office is run; I was scheduled for a procedure but only received instructions two days beforehand making it impossible for me to plan accordingly. Several times I visited the office and materials were not on site (they were "forgotten at the main office"). I would recommend seeing someone else.

JUST DON’T
I had sought out a GI after going to the ER for nonstop nausea and vomiting for 4 days. Dr. Farboud heard me try to explain what I thought I was experiencing and prescribed me 2 anti nausea and vomiting meds and ordered a gastric emptying scan as well as an endoscopy. Lo and behold the meds don’t work, the scan says I have delayed gastric emptying and my endoscopy/ pathology are clean and support I may have Gastroparesis. He even prescribed me medication meant to treat it and it worked ( after I had to figure out on my own when to take it before a meal). When he thought it didn’t work he order me to do a gallbladder scan. My last ever appointment with him, he told me he had no long term plan for my care, that unless I do more scans he wouldn’t do anything, and that despite having not been able to stomach anything for 4 days, he would not consider any form of nutrition. When I called him out, he kicked me out of his office. Don’t go to him if you need actual care and want to be involve

NO!
Not qualified for understanding or managing an imbalance in the gut, with symptoms of IBS. He misdiagnosed on several counts and said eat yogurt. I resolved this on my own with a company that specializes in supplemental treatments for the issue. He was also unable to appropriately read and understand a simple lab report.

I saw Dr. Farboud years ago for what was diagnosed with IBS (I am a young woman). From the beginning, Dr. Farboud asked me if I was stressed out, the implication being that my problem was anxiety-induced. This in spite of the fact that I was having watery diarrhea up to 10 times a day that Imodium didn't help. I ended up getting a colonoscopy, and it came out "clear"... Even though Dr. took no biopsies! I was diagnosed with IBS and put on antidepressants. Five years later... The same awful diarrhea showed up again. I've lost 10 pounds. I ended up getting another colonoscopy. And this time, they bothered to do the procedure as it's SUPPOSED to be done, and took biopsies of my large intestine. Lo and behold, I don't have IBS. I have microscopic colitis, a more serious issue that requires steroids to treat... not antidepressants. Young women, ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF AND PUSH FOR WHAT YOU NEED. Dr. Farboud won't do it for you. He'll say you're "stressed."

Dr. Farboud is the most compassionate doctor I have ever had. I recently moved to the area and had to find (all over again) a GI doctor who could deal with the serious set of surgeries and issues I've had. I'm so grateful I found his office. He truly cares about his patients and provides real solutions. He is a genuinely kind person who goes above and beyond for his patients. I am so grateful for this doctor and his amazing staff - Stacey and Virginia are also excellent.

I would wait for this guy even 3 hours - he helped me, keeps helping and is simply wise. For his staff - most friendly and assisting. As much as I hate going to the doctors in general, I go there with full confidence and trust.

As a young person with Crohn's disease it can be hard to accept a diagnosis and be compliant with the change in lifestyle and medications. Dr. Farboud is so friendly and understanding. He takes the time to explain my diagnosis and give me recommendations and answer all of my questions. He is easy to get in touch with and really worked with me when I was far for college. He didn't baby me but instead provided me the resources to make informed decisions. He's tough when he needs to be.

Dr. Farboud not only takes a very hands on approach to his care for patients, he genuinely cares. I would recommend him, with no hesitation and his office in Tyson's Corner has an amazing staff that provides 1:1 attention.

The most unprofessional medical facility I have seen in my adult life. Staff does whatever wants to do and don't communicate with each other. I have noticed tension among the staff, which makes me mistrust the outcome of their overall service. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone I know. They need a major reform.
