Dr. Rami Shaarawy, MD

This doctor has his mother acting as the office manager. She is extremely rude and judgmental. She has trained the front desk girls to tell patients that they will charge you $65 for a prior authorization. A prior authorization is a part of any normal doctor's office job to complete. I've been in the medical industry here in LA for 15 years now, and this is the first time I've ever heard a doctor's office try to charge for a prior authorization. This seems to be a fraudulent office. Stay away and pick another honest doctor.

I have been going to this doctor for about 8 years now. Up until now the doctor has been very friendly. I recently was forced to make an appointment because of very unfriendly rude member of his staff was unwilling to help me get a prescription filled. Forcing me to make an appointment so I can speak to the doctor directly. He displayed absolutely no empathy even after I explained to him that I had to pay for my own medicine because Heidi could not find the time to help me for weeks. He actually became, I felt rude towards me for bringing it to his attention. I am currently looking for a new doctor

I have been a patient of the practice for years. And while I love Dr S....this review is all about the quality of the folks who work IN the office. I have blood work completed every single week. What I very much appreciate is that this group of women never fails to follow up with me EVERY SINGLE WEEK (the day after my blood work) to provide my results (so I can adjust my medication accordingly). What other office PROACTIVELY does that for an individual patient? AWESOME.... really appreciate all of you!!!!!!

Great doctor. Spends time with you.

We met Dr Shaarawy at West Hills Hospital. He took an incredible interest in my husband’s health and we switched from our primary doctor of 20 years to Dr Shaarawy. He told us that he would try his best to keep my husband Jerry out of the hospital. His goal has been met, my husband hasn’t been to the hospital in over a year! He sees my husband every two weeks and sometimes he will treat me for minor illnesses. My husband had a chest infection and we called him while he was on vacation. The doctor called us back from Hawaii and within an hour the pharmacy had an antibiotic ready for him. Dr. Shaarawy is the most compassionate doctor we have ever seen. He is definitely a healer. His staff is also efficient and wonderful. We also love his staff Alexis, Heidi and Rebecca.

This doctor has no compassion or empathy. I felt he had no interest in caring for my mom's care. He was just waiting for me to give up on her. What a jerk....

The doctor is actually very nice, and knowledgeable. There is one person on his staff named Rebeca that has ALWAYS been a problem for me. Getting her to call in a prescription or a refill is impossible. It requires NUMEROUS calls to get her to do her job. I dread having to deal with her because I know I will not get the proper service, and will be calling her again and again to get my prescription.

Love this doctor & staff!!! He goes out of his way for his patients and so do the ladies in the office. He is always looking out for his patients has done so much for my family and i and we wont ever be able to thank him enough. Glad i found him, why does everyone talk bad about the staff? is it a trend? they are great! i dont know there names but theres the older lady the irish lady and the hispanic lady they are all so sweet just like the dr, go out of their way for patients. xoxo -Betty

Dr. Shaarawy is the BEST!!! He listens and all my questions were answered. He doesn't sugar coat and give you the run around. Would highly recommend to my family and friends.. Great staff as well!!!

Lacking in empathy and disinterested in caring for patients who he knows are not going to make it.

Things started out well with Dr. Shaarawy, but lately it's been impossible to even book an appointment without waiting 2 weeks or longer! I've been a patient of his for years, yet I have to go to urgent care and pay the bigger copay for just about everything now. His staff (who are rude, it's true) are clearly way overbooking his calendar, making it pretty pointless for me to even have a regular doctor.

I was originally referred to Dr. Shaarawy by my sister who's also in the medical field. It did't take long to realize why he was so highly thought of by even his own colleagues. He takes his time to get to know you & never rushes you through an appt.. He has a genuine passion for his patient's wellbeing & its clear. His staff is equally welcoming & friendly. They stay on top of things so I don't have to. And the wait time people commented on... I don't want a Dr. who nobody wants to see. Do you?

Dr. Shaarawy is second to none. He listens and he cares. Never cuts visits short as he answers all questions. I refer all my family and friends to him. Thanks Dr. Shaarawy!

I have met the doctor approx. 1 month ago and it was such a great experience this doctor and his staff are awesome. I highly recommend Dr. Shaarawy to anyone as a primary care physician.

Dr. Shaarawy and his staff are out of this world! They are the only doctors office who will actually go out of their way to make an appointment for me with the specialist to make sure that I am seen in a timely fashion because Dr. Shaarawy does not want me to wait to be seen. Dr. Shaarawy is the kind of Doctor Who is always there for his patients. He has even treated me over the phone on weekends when it has been urgent. I cannot thank him and his staff enough.

Terrible staff never called to confirm appointment. Incredibly rude staff, the front desk woman is the rudest person I gave ever encountered. Long wait times and Bad location in an unsavory neighborhood. Won't be returning.

The doc is good, but I have made several appointments to see him and his office staff, on two occasions, has not acknowledged them...and are quite self-righteous about it. In short, they are very unprofessional.

I could not see this doctor, I talked a women named Melinda, probably the receptionist. I was feeling dizzy, was in Er on Friday. I wanted her to check to see if ,my name was in their system, she said we don't have time for you & said it was not in the system even though my insurance said it is!. She behaved unprofesional, uneducated , rude & indecent. Most in humane person I have ever been faced in my life.
