Dr. Rami Abboud, MD

I was told I had a twisted colon. Lots of blood and clots, excruciating pain. After being run around by the nurse in the surgery scheduling room and arguing with her about her incompetence I was told there is nothing else they can do for me. Never even met the Dr. will never go back

I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Abboud. He listened to my concerns. Answered my questions. I am very comfortable having Dr. Abboud perform my upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.

I went to great lengths to switch over to Abboud and Muffdah in Brooksville after a Hudson gastroenterologist kept cancelling appointments and ducking me around telling me if I were hemorrhaging maybe they could squeeze me in. Totally upsetting and dismissive (they cancelled two appointments delaying a necessary colonoscopy by 3+ months!). Not Abboud and Muffdah. BRAND NEW facility where this is all they do. Totally professional. When they say you’ll be done in 1.5 hours you very likely will. Nurses and other employees are amongst the nicest staff I’ve experienced I had not had a colonoscopy before and they were super empathetic and professional ! Abboud appears to do the procedures while Muffdah does the office appointments. I love these guys and who can say that about a colonoscopy!

Went for a hemorrhoid. Went through my allergies and I was shocked to learn he had never heard of MSG, which I am highly allergic to. Then, tried to force me into a colonoscopy, which I have never had and don't want. Talked me into a mini version. Then he was ending the visit and I asked him if he was going to do a rectal exam regarding hemorrhoid and he said no. I have now canceled the other procedure, as I am not comfortable with the prep and the procedure. Will never go back. He wasn't even interested in checking to see if my problem is a simple hemorrhoid or not.

This doctor was there for me this Sunday at Oak Hill Hospital. I don’t know him but I was admitted on Friday really feeling sick not nauseous but could not eat without it coming home after a surgery 5 weeks earlier. The surgeon was not responding to me. I had a food blockage. A NP from his office spoke to me and “really listened”, a rare thing these days. They did a scoop on Sunday and found a food blockage and removed it. I was discharged on Monday. I am grateful to them. Any doctor that would be there for me on a Sunday is impressive!
