Awful!
This man needs to retire already! He is horrible. The most nonchalant Dr. I’ve ever dealt with. He literally answers questions with I don’t know what to tell you about that. Shows zero interest in helping you figure it out. Just wants to prescribe meds every few months and wash his hands. His nurse does not return calls in a timely manner. I’ve waited up to two weeks for a return call from her.

Dr. Northam is a legend in his own mind. He fakes being smart and caring. His speech seems impaired as well making it difficult to understand his explanations when asked. I really do not see how he ever made it through medical school. Others think the same.

Dr. Northam practices an extremely lackadaisical approach to neurology. I would never trust him to care for my children. I am aware of several cases where he did not do appropriate testing and missed life threatening brain tumors. Not at all what you would expect from a pediatric neurologist. You would be better off seeing almost anyone else even a doctor who is not trained in neurology. He is also very condescending with parents and his availability is quite poor.

Dr. Northam was careless and care-less regarding the serious illness of my daughter- misdiagnosed, and another doctor had not taken over her case; Northam's order was to send her home - He was rude, cold, refused to engage with family and although this event was 18 years ago, the callousness and incompetence of this doctor has not diminished in this family's opinion. I thank God for another doctor kindly and carefully taking over her case and fortunately a pediatric neurologist at UVA also.
