Dr. Rafaela Hernandez, MD

Her office staff is not friendly, there is always a 30+ minute wait, and it feels very much like a pregnant lady mill. Weight, BP, pee in the cup, wait in the room, vag examination (without any kind of explaination why it's necessary) any questions? no? good, see you in 4 weeks!... It's very impersonal, feels rushed, and she doesn't really take the time to explain what is going on. If you have questions or want further explainations why something is necessary, or heaven forbit want to talk about an alternative to some basic testing... be prepared to be dismissed and rushed out the door. When it came time for baby to come, it was more of the same. I saw her twice during her rotation for less than 5 mins. Want to forego a cervical check? You might as well kick her dog... Don't act like you're questioning her authority or knowledge, don't ask too many questions... and you'll be fine.

If this was a review that I was leaving 13 years ago when I had had my son all of my scores would be five out of five. My last few visits have not been a good experience. I feel like she doesn’t care as much

I had a later afternoon appointment and my wait time was about 10 minutes. The front staff was very friendly and efficient, the nurse went over my reason for visit and thoroughly reviewed my medical history. When Dr.Hernandez came in she had such a warm, welcoming and inviting personality. She listened to me and all my concerns and gave me multiple options without pushing me one way or another. She was very supportive and my exam was pain free and comfortable and very fast, the entire visit once I was in the room lasted about 15 minutes. She answered all my questions and was very open minded to my preferences.

The front desk staff were very unprofessional and were gossiping loudly behind the counter. Waited 30 minutes in the lobby (which is typical for this office) & then another 45 in the room. I was sitting on the table in the hospital gown waiting for Dr. Hernandez to come in, and the other provider in the office, Dr. Ashley, walked in on me and congratulated me on being pregnant. I looked at her, puzzled, as she realized that I was not her patient, nor was I pregnant. At this visit, I communicated with Dr. Hernandez my wishes for Natural Family Planning and was met with a lack of empathy, and remarks attempting to dissuade my decision. I left feeling empowered that I advocated for my choice, yet discouraged that I had to explain myself to a physician whose job it is to support me in my medical journey. In the past, I have referred women to this office, but never again. Please consider going elsewhere if you are looking for a more supportive and holistic view on women's health.

Dr Hernandez is amazing! She truly cares about you as a patient and spends time with you. She is amazing and delivered my first baby. I would rate her 10 stars if I could. The front desk staff are confusing about billing, so do your research with your insurance company before you go to her office. They will surprise you with random bills and now I found I don’t owe them anything.

I love Dr. Hernandez! She listens, cares, is very personable and genuinely cares about her patients! I would never want to see anyone else.

Dr. Hernandez is knowledgeable and nice but her front office staff is not. Don't expect to be greeted or welcomed upon arriving. I work at an office setting and I would have been fired if I treated patients like this staff does. I'm not sure if they will see this review but if they do I highly suggest they work with their staff on this as it is not okay. By the looks of other reviews it seems like I'm not the only who feels this way.

I have been cared for by Dr Hernandez for 12 years now and love her caring, professional expertise. She is highly skilled and knowledgeable. But also kind and compassionate.

I have seen Dr. Hernandez for 3 pregnancies. She is absolutely amazing. She is the most kind and caring doctor and really takes the time to listen to you. I couldn't recommend her more highly. She also was fantastic for my last very tense delivery and I was able to avoid a c-section and have a vaginal birth like I wanted. She is very competent and a lovely person.

Was kind of rude and short with me. I had to wait longer than expected. It almost felt like she did not want to see me. I will never come back to her.

She is an excellent doctor very caring and listens to you. I have been seeing her for 11 years now and I always use her as a referral to my friend and family that need a OB.
