Dr. Chaer is the best. I am very sad that he is leaving UPMC.

Personable, but there doesn't seem to be an urgency in his care. Staff are courteous but some lack empathy. I would recommend on basis of his consult. I have yet to have Dr Chaer perform surgery at this time. I shall give a more detailed review after my surgery is completed.

I am sure Dr. Chaer is a competent doctor, but I would avoid him for anything that is not common. His beside manner is terrible and he is unavailable, which is frustrating when your PCP and Ortho both are clueless about your condition. He also failed to admit that his two surgeries didn't work. In fact they took my 90% occlusion to a 100% occlusion and missed an extra medial head all while he insisted it was a nerve issue. I sought care out of state and the issue has been resolved.

I had a carotid endarectomy surgery in Presbyterian Hospital. Dr Rabi Chaer was my surgeon. I am so appreciative of Dr. Chaer?s skill, knowledge, and sympathetic care during my hospitalization. Because of my age (84) the risk factor was high. The surgery was successful and I am feeling great. My thanks to Dr. Chaer, his team, and Presbyterian Hospital.
