Good while you have her
Dr. Gait was the best psychiatrist I ever had until she dropped me because she felt I wasn’t getting better. I felt blindsided by that decision. She did continue seeing me and prescribed my medications until I saw a new psychiatrist which I appreciated. Very sad experience for me when I really thought we got along.

Validating and helpful
Dr. Gait is a good psychiatrist because she is direct, thoughtful, caring, and has a great sense of humor. I had to move so I no longer see her and I wish I could find someone like her. One of a kind.

Don't count on her to be reliable regarding medication refills. She is notoriously bad at getting a refill called in to the pharmacy. She ignores phone calls .

I am yet another person who left her office crying. Most unprofessional, uncaring, unintelligent doctor I’ve ever seen. She wanted to call my mom during my appointment! I’m 40 years old! What a horrible joke of a provider. Please seek care elsewhere.

Seeing Dr. Gait was one of the worst experiences of my life seeing a mental health professional. She was not professional at all. She blamed me and criticized my intelligence about my diagnosis. She belittled me to the point I left out her office crying all the way to my car. I left more depressed than when I came in. She has no empathy or compassion in my opinion. Cindy Sundeen was the best at OSF but is no longer there. I would definitely steer clear of this so called Dr. Gait. If I could give her a zero star I would.

Dr. Gait was helpful, friendly and accommodating. She spends time getting to know the patient and helps the patient make informed choices related to their treatment plan. I've benefitted greatly under her care.

I have seen a few psychiatrists, but this doctor was by far the worst I have ever visited. Dr. Gait was unprofessional, condescending, rude and horribly insensitive. She had a clear disdain for seeing patients. I left her office and cried as I walked to my car. This woman should not be practicing medicine.

Priyanka Gait placed my child on Prozac, then never followed up - even after my child was put on a 72-hour psychiatric hold for suicidal ideation while under her care. Further, she cancelled an appointment after the hold - I asked her office to have her call me as I was concerned about my child. She never called, and the office informed me that she had quit — leaving patients to locate new psychiatric care with zero transition time. This is dangerously unprofessional behavior.

Dr. Gait is relatively young as Psychiatrist go having their own practice. However, despite having to work under deplorable conditions of being the sole Psychiatrist for a multi office practice spanning over a hundred miles in total driving distances, she does better then the majority working under similar conditions. The Clinic she works for is a non-profit mostly Medical based provider. The Board must be inept not to be able to attract more Doctors like Doctor Gait.
