Dr. Prabhat Hebbar, MD

This experience was a great disappointment in health 'care', as it seemed often there was uncaring for my spouse. Tests results were slow & despite numerous requests for info, were not called back with them. His main nurse could be especially brusk & argumentative about facts actually in the charts & on record. Health challenges are difficult enough without being disrespected as well. Don't understand why people in this field don't choose kindness & compassion? This certainly was not shown to us.

Have had 4 procedures by him. He explains in minute details. He even drew a diagram to explain the worse procedure Dr Hebbar is an excellent person

I've only been to this Dr once & found he seemed to be most unconcerned. On my follow-up visit, I had to see his nurse practitioner. She was nice but my PCP didn't send me to see an NP. I got a letter in the mail a week ago that asked me to call & made my yearly follow-up exam, I have called every day for a week & left a message for his nurse but have yet to hear from her. I do not recommend this Doctor he seems uncaring & the staff in this office is rude. Dr. Hebber may be a good Dr if you have a serious heart condition but for someone who has a low heart rate & fluttering got subpar service.

I was discharged on 3/29/22 from St. Vincent North under Dr. Hebbar care without medication to sustain me until I could order some. Dr. gave prescription. I went to five pharmacies. I search five hours and finally went to CHI heart clinic to tell Dr. Hebbar. The office staff told me I could not see Dr. Hebbar or his nurse without appointment about my medication. I missed my first two doses. The next day Dr. Hebbar told me I couldn't take medicine without going back into the hospital again. If Dr. Hebbar would have called my pharmacy the day before I was release and made sure it was available I would be taking medicine today and i wouldn't have wasted 3 days of my LIFE. if his office staff would have allow me to see him or his nurse I might have got the two pills I needed. CHI office staff refused. I couldn't go back into Baptist. I assume insurance wouldn't pay for second attempt. Finally had to take another medicine prescribed by Dr. St. Pierre my regular cardiologist, who I trust.

Dr Hebbar saved my life!! After being at St Vincent North for 39 days with a Dr that didn't know what he was doing or couldn't figure out what was going on with me. Dr Hebbar was on call an came by to check on me and figured out what was going with my heart within an hours time!! Had me transported for emergency surgery at the Big SV in LR that same day!! Just admit it when u don't know all the answers, were all human and make mistakes but don't tale my life for granted while you're trying to figure out the problem!!

I absolutely love Dr Hebbar. Very knowledgeable with an excellent bedside manner! He actually listens to his patients (*gasp*)!
