Dr. Phong Nguyen, MD

He has been incorrect about my Dx 3 times and keeps blasting me with medications that have debilitating side effects. Also, expect to wait an hour in the waiting room. They don’t care about your time, nor do they respond to questions or voicemails.

I have been a patient of Dr. Phong Nguyen for over twenty year. What a Phenomenal doctor he is in every aspect! His care for his patients is excellent. His knowledge in Rheumatology is over the top! I couldn’t imagine going to everyone else but Dr. Nguyen due to his knowledge and thoroughness! The best of the best. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!

Dr. Nguyen is very personable and takes the time necessary to ask/answer questions, but he spends too much time socializing with patients. It was 30 minutes past the appt time that I was finally taken to an exam room, and was told by the nurse (with a sheepish look) that the dr liked to chat and would be in soon. I waited another 20 minutes and I could hear him making weekend-related chitchat with the patient in the next room. When he did finally show up in my exam room, he did not apologize or even acknowledge that he was late. He performed some tests and asked some questions, but surprisingly did not ask any family history questions, which would have been appropriate for the condition we were discussing. I had blood drawn before I left and was told I would have results in about a week. I waited a month to hear from him and ended up scheduling a followup with a different doctor to get the results.

My mom & I just started seeing Dr. Nguyen & we’ve both been pretty impressed. Yes, you may have to wait a bit! Our appts have been for 10 am & we haven’t gotten to see him until 11 or little after, but once he comes in he’s in no hurry to leave. It’s not like most Dr’s your in & out in 15 minutes. He did blood work & sent us for X-rays & the staff was very nice & they made a follow up appointment the very next week to go over everything. He takes his time with us, he’s pleasant, jokes, makes you feel comfortable & went over our blood work & X-rays thoroughly. We were also impressed about getting an appt within 3 or 4 weeks. With some Dr.’s it’s 4 to 6 months. So far so good ??

I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen for 22 years since I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1999. He is the best around. Yes, he is incredibly busy and it takes a while to hear back from him, but I can only imagine that is because he has such a full plate of patients. If you can get in to see him, I highly recommend!

Spent less than 15 mins examining our 70+ year old dad; provided no preliminary diagnosis; ordered series of blood tests. After over 3 weeks, no word on test results. We followed up with Dr. Nguyen to get test results on dad’s tests. Called and left messages to have the doctor call back. After our requests for call back, still no call from the dr.! The worst doctor you can encounter - inattentive, unresponsive, and dismissive. This is matter of life and death for our dad; and the doctor couldn’t be bother to call us back on results! He seems to care more about running his business than caring for his patients, which he shouldn’t forget is his business after all! Hope he reads this review and cleans up his act or he’ll slowly lose patients. Will be moving from this arrogant doctor for sure. A lot good and amazing doctors in this area; unfortunately, we stumbled and wasted our time on this one.

With this virus, I had called to the office in Reston, Va to schedule video calls or ask for orders and prescriptions. The Receptionist was so rude, and unprofessional.

Positive experience. Explained treatment options and outlook very well.

One of the best doctors around. He takes the time to listen to his patients and explains treatment options.

Took 2.5 months to get first available appointment. They canceled 3 days prior. Next available was another month out. Receptionist was rude. Stay away.
