Great Doctor
Went there for !an emergency today. First time meeting this dermatologist. I have been to several over the years and she stands out as one of the best. She had a great bedside manner and did everything to relieve my immediate pain, which was an 8, in the gentlest way possible. She is very knowledgeable and did not rush at all, and i am very glad to say the procedure worked so far anyway, leaving the office with virtually no pain. Thank you Dr LU!

Unprepared
Failed to review my chart to assess tumor size and aggressiveness prior to scheduled surgery. Day of surgery, obviously the first time she laid eyes on the tumor, refused to perform Mohs, making the obviously bogus claim that she might not have enough lidocaine, and there might be too much bleeding. She then beat a hasty retreat. I was left in the exam room with no one to follow up. I called in a medical assistant, requested the doctor Rx something for the extreme pain I was experiencing. Dr. Lu, via the assistant, refused. From the moment Lu departed the room, I could here her and staff members in the adjacent room laughing it up - party time while I was almost paralyzed with pain. Incompetence + insensitivity = not fit to practice medicine

Dr. Phoebe Lu is always professional and warm. I had an appointment this past week. The appointment was "on time". Dr. Lu reviewed some things from the prior year and rechecked areas from that time. She communicates any and all procedures, tells you what to expect and follows through. These are challenging times and Dr. Lu takes universal precautions.

Similar to previous negative issues. Her social kills are such that it is not surprising she does not have her own practice. She is most likely an excellent surgeon, however because she is basically a independent contractor for various dermatology groups, don't expect any kind of personalized follow up. In my case, by virtue of (more than likely) not taking the time to review the tumor size presented on my previous visit to this office, on the day of surgery, she announced it was too large for her to excise, which was a good call, but her abrupt manner, intelligence insulting explanation, merged with beating a hasty retreat out of the exam room, and refusal to Rx anything to relieve the unrelenting pain associated with an open infected biopsy wound, confirms my opening statement.

Sorry to say I had a similar experience as others. Dr. Lu was nice, friendly, and she couldn't get out fast enough! Came home and went googling to get better info on the procedure she had done and how I should be taking care of it as it heals. Finally called and spoke to her PA who provided much better info. She was very helpful and kind and also answered pertinent questions/concerns re future treatments which the doctor did not - and it only took 2 minutes of her time! Doctor also gave me a sample of Tretinoin with NO directions and no indication of whether I should even use it at all. I do plan to return to the office, but seeing a different physician.

Although I wasn't necessarily presenting with a disease or problem, I did have several questions about my hair loss and Dr. Lu couldn't have spent more than 3-4 minutes with me. She was edging towards the door with her hand on the door while I was still asking questions, then wrote me a prescription without explaining what it was. I had to ask for further clarification from the nurse that later came in. Overall, the visit was extremely rushed and I left with no more clarity than when I entered.

Dr Lu was ok. She rushed through my check up and didn’t address the issues I intended. This office treats patients like robots, there is no patient care. I will be finding a new dermatologist.
