He made sure I had access to cognitive and behavioral assessments to make my recovery whole . He sent me to specialists within Weill Cornell to help me in my recovery process. His care and concern did not end when I left the operating room. He made sure I received a well - rounded care at Weill Cornell. I still see him on a as needed basis. He is a great doctor.

After 20 plus years of misdiagnosis I was diagnosed in early 2023 and saw Dr. Stieg for a second opinion on my diagnosis of Chiari malformation Type I with a syrinx in my spine. After reviewing my MRIs and reports he requested another MRI to measure my CSF flow, confirmed my diagnosed and recommended surgery. He took the time to answer my questions and explain the process to me. His nurse practitioner, secretary and staff never made me feel like I was bothering them when I called with questions. The entire staff were very accommodating with scheduling appointments, prescriptions, letters or whatever I needed throughout this entire preoperative and postoperative period.

Concerned about the whole body of the patient not just his area of expertise. Was advising me on meditation and yoga as way to further my healing.
