Five years of back pain relief.
I had two Laminectomies performed by Dr. Henkin with excellent results for five years. Relieved both lower back and sciatic leg pain. Highly recommend.

Direct and to the point. No B/S found here. You are provided with detailed analysis, given options, timelines, realistic outcomes. If you are looking for genuine working , no frills surgeon that will get the job done, this is your doctor. I have trusted him twice now over last 5 years and he is the genuine working doctor. 2nd to none. Thanks Doc

Excellent work Excellent outcome – Sep 06, 2023

My experience
Just had my second lumbar fusion. My care in the office was excellent with those at the desk being kind and respectful. Yes, I have waited in the office but know that emergencies for a neurosurgeon unfortunately happen. Dr. Henkin assisted me in walking daily in the hospital and also looked for extra pillows for me while up in a chair. His PA will is a kind man. Would refer that office to all.

Got on my nerves
I went to see Dr. Henkin for increased lower back pain that began 1 month ago. To start off with I waited 2 hours for my appointment in the waiting room and an additional 20 minutes in the exam room. Once the doctor came in his bedside manner was less than desirable. When I was attempting to tell him why I was there he rudely interrupted me several times. He then briefly looks at the MRI and told me everything was fine when the recent report read by a radiologist says differently. I have 5 herniated discs with spinal cord impingement. He was only in the office for a total of 5 minutes and told me I have a bad back sprain when I know differently. The dr had an attitude since he walked through the door and when the very short appointment was over he asked me to follow him but then left me with no clue where to go. I will never go back to this man or refer anyone to see him.

Cervical Neck Fusion x 3 levels
We were very blessed to find Dr. Henkin. My husband had neck fusion surgery without any. difficulty in October 2022, just after moving from Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Henkin is never hurried, makes you feel like you are his only patient. His caring, kind and compassionate nature spills over to his staff they are all wonderful! Dr. Henkin's ability to explain procedures and what to expect are excellent!! Always explains in laymen terms, that are easy to understand and remember. From the padded comfy chairs, beautiful wall art and a bathroom in the waiting area is done with your comfort in mind. If you need a neck or spine surgeon in the future hands down, he is the one. We recommend him highly!!

Truly Gifted Surgeon
I’m Thomas Capurso, my wife was Mynett . Dr Henkin treated my wife for a brain tumor . He performed 2 major surgeries and two biopsies. His surgical skills were nothing short of miraculous . He devoted his time , his weekends and even put off a Disney vacation for my wife . I was so blest you have had Dr Henkin as my wife’s surgeon . Also my wife was terrified of needles and required a spinal tap . We told Dr Henkin and He personally did the procedure . I was so thankful . I would gladly wait the three hours I’ve seen as negative comments for Dr Henkin . He sure did it for us and I am truly thankful . My wife was his patient from 9/00 to 7/04 . He gave us 4 years with a Glioblastoma. I was looking for him to check out some weakness in my right upper arm . Found out he moved . Need to plan a trip soon .

Recent Patient
On January 13th, 2022, Dr. Philip Henkin did a successful keyhole lumbar laminotomy on me. It relieved my strong nerve pain in butt and leg and much intermittent numbness in legs and feet all caused by severe stenosis. This is the 4th life-changing surgery he has done for me! All wonderfully successful with quick recoveries. The 1st 2 were carpal tunnel on each hand. In February 2019 he did a four and a half hour surgery, which was cervical discectomy and fusion- putting in three artificial discs, a steel plate and screws and removing multiple bone spurs, thus ending neck pain and numbness in my arms and hands. He was always polite and kind to me. Were it not for his wonderful surgeries, I would not have the good new life I have now. He is a man of integrity and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants help. Sincerely Deborah Farrel

NOt a good experience it was like I had a disease or something the front desk was rude and then 30 minutes later (6 pm) I was able to see the doc who looked at my MRI that had shown the area of L2/L3 was compressing the nerve and had surgery already by a real surgeon. This doctor didn't see anything to cause me my pain. He never tested me for any strength or asked where the pain was. Needless to say I went to another surgeon who ordered a new MRI which showed the L2//L3 disc had burst and a cyst had occurred pressing on the nerve and the spinal cord was severely compressed. I had surgery the same week. I'm glad I found a new surgeon as this guy simply picks and chooses who he wants to work on. This doc is a sham with no manners and who doesn't seem to recognize his oath.

2 years ago- Tuesday 9-1-18, Dr Henkin gave me a pain free life back after fusion surgery. I am eternally grateful to this man. He might have long wait times, but he is worth the wait. He is unbelievable! The pain was so unbearable I couldn’t walk and he came in on a Saturday and operated on me. I just want him to know I hope I never have to see him again and how grateful I am.

Had surgery yesterday and feeling substantially better than several months. No pain even at surgical site. Dr. Henkin patiently explain in the office and before surgery what would happen. Everything went as discussed. Would no hesitate to refer Dr. Henkin to others or heaven forbid have him do a future surgery.

Moved to Florida from NC, in feb. was referred to dr. Henken by dr. Cases and had an appt. within 3 days. Had surgery done March 6, Dr. Henken explained the surgery Very well of what he would be doing right down to drawing a picture of my cervical area and building a cage to grow bone. My surgery went great didn’t have no pain after wards can’t even tell I had surgery , barely see a scar! Everything healed up great. Have some muscle spasms but that is to be expected for a while. I would highly recommend him to everybody. Thank you Dr Henken. Lisa Roton

This guy was a jerk! He treated my wife with Alzheimer’s very poorly, trying to make her feel stupid. Specialists with such poor bedside manners, should let their physician assistants or nurse practitioners handle their appointments. He clearly had a golf game to get to or something more important to do than see his patients. What a jerk!

First I have to tell you that when you make an appointment you will be waiting at least 3 to 4 weeks. Then once you show up to your appointment you may have to be rescheduled or wait 2 to 3 hours due to over scheduling. Malpractice Alert: I requested a formal report of my visit with Dr. Henkin which I received today. There are three pages. 1 page describes detailed physical examination actions performed on me including basic checks like heart rate, height, weight, etc. it also included detailed tests performed on me by Dr. Henkin to include an array of checks on my neck area arms, legs, knees, etc. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. IT IS A COMPLETE LIE AND IS MORE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH THAT ITS EXTREMELY HURTFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL. I WILL PURSUE LEGAL ACTION AND INCLUDE THIS REVIEW ON EVERY OUTLET POSSIBLE. When I met Dr. Henkin about my neck pain he spent about five to seven minutes with me and did not provide any useful information as to why I was experiencing pain and discomfort
