Dr. Atigre was a responsive doctor when he attended my mother at the nursing facility. When I requested a Physician's Statement from Dr. Atigre for insurance purposes several years later, he would not complete the simple paperwork based upon her records that were still part of her file. I called his office and his cell phone about 7 times. I reached him once. He claimed he could not go back four years to answer basic questions about her past diagnosis and home needs, although he had previously drafted a letter diagnosing her dementia and inability to make medical decisions. His nurse, Leyda, called and advised me to fax over the request. She never returned the form or my followup calls. My experience with Dr. Atigre and his staff is that they will do the bare necessities, but will not take the time to delve into anything further. It would have been a simple matter for Dr. Atigre to pull up my mother's chart and complete the simple form based on her record and his notes.

I have read the reviews and clearly some of them are false , cause I'm expierening his inability to communicate with patient's loved ones. My father in law has been in the hospital for a month and my mother in law has only spoken to this "doctor" one time. She has attempted to contact him to find out what is wrong with her husband more times than a person could count and certainly more times than should be necessary to be able to find out the condition of someone who you care about. She even left 3 messages in one day and still has yet to speak with this man. In the meantime her husband lies in a hospital bed almost unresponsive while she has no idea what's wrong with him. This is unacceptable and absurd. There should be some sort of regulation or rules that he must adhere to that don't allow someone to be in this condition without the family knowing what's going on.

Dr. Atigre and his office have been very unhelpful, and not kind in a very difficult time. My mother passed away at St. Joseph's hospital in June. Dr. Atigre's office would not help the funeral home to get a death certificate so that final services could be performed. Additionally, when we complained to St. Joseph's hospital about their office, they would not respond to the hospital with the problems and issues that they caused This office and Dr. are not kind, and in our opinion you should avoid to not have this unpleasant experience.

Wow where do I begin..Dr Atigre saved my dad's life. I'm in California and my dad is under Dr Atigre's excellent care and also living assisted living home in Florida. I can sleep at night knowing Dr Atigre doesn't skip a beat when it comes to my dad's health. He is on always on top of it! He is not just brilliant but caring. When my dad was at St Joseph, Dr Atigre, who is a staff member there, visited him everyday. How many people can say they see their PCP everyday? Later my dad was transferred to Kindred hospital. Dr Atigre visited him there daily too, even on the 4th of July!! And Dr Atigre takes the time to call back his patient's family. My goodness, to my knowledge, the man visits his patients at 2 hospitals plus 1 nursing home l every morning- at 4am he's there. Visits all these places and then is back at his office seeing patients who have appointments. Not sure if he visits more places than those. But know this, the man is a saint!!! He is a gem among doctors

He has very poor communications with the patient family. My husband was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks never spoke to the doctor and never meet him. Comes to visit patients at 6AM and sometimes earlier. Had no idea of my husbands condition. when tried to contact him he blew up on my phone. Last we every heard from him. He would not release my husband from hospital. Doctor's need some bedside manners, he doesn't have them. He could be a good medical doctor, that is only part of a drs. job

He is very rude and disrespectful towards family in hospital and towards nurses. He does not respond to pages from hospital. He yelled at my grandmother over the phone for just wanting to know when her husband would be released. He refused to sign a release paper because he was mad. Most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with.

I have spent the last 17 years caring for my and my husbands parents. I have seen many doctors and there are three who stand out to me for what I want as a physician caring for my loved ones. Dr. Atigre is one of those three. He is compassionate, understanding, never acts rushed, and is careful ask and answer questions. I appreciate his professionalism and when I mention to the other doctor I trust that he is my Mom’s primary physician, they have nothing but praise for him.

Dr. Atigre sees my mother at her assisted living. He is caring and has a wonderful manner with the elderly patients he sees there. He consistenly provides a level of care rarely seen these days. I am so grateful for the attentive care he has provided. He is the reason my mother is alive today after a hospital stay that almost killed her.
