My complaint pending before the CA Board of Podiatry spells it all out in detail. Dr. Always should retire before he kills a patient. After not helping my heel ulcer one bit, he offered to write me an Rx for a lot of Vicodins, go home and drink it with a bottle of vodka, so that I would not wake up to ever face my impending death, which he said would be in 3 to 9 months. That was several years ago. The ulcer has healed and I can walk well again; zero thanks to him. He joked I front of me, my wife and his nurse that he was married to a 'Ho,' smiling at his bad taste joke, and explained his wife's name was Ho.. Ha ha. He violated the CA laws regarding informed voluntary suicide in numerous ways. I could go on and on, but I have better things to do with my time...

Dismissive and rude
Dr Alway was very dismissive and rushed during my appointment, like he had somewhere else more important to be. I literally had to call him back into the room because I wasn’t finished speaking and he was halfway out the door wanting to leave. This happened three times. I was trying to see if I was a candidate for surgery, which to most patients is a big deal. After telling me I probably shouldn’t unless I’m in pain all the time, finally hearing that I’m in pain all the time, he then agreed that I would be a candidate. His office then took 3 months to follow up with a call to schedule the surgery, which I’m definitely not doing with him.

This clinic failed me completely. I was referred for plantar facia and torn achilles tendons. Dr Alway told stories about his dad, his college days, his first car/job/etc. but did not address my condition. He clipped a toenail and said that was all he could do. I lost my job because I could not get up the stairs anymore. Fortunately, I was able to get competent help. That did not stop them from sending an additional bill, 8 months after the visit, for $100 for clipping the toenail. Unbelievable.

Absolutely horrible experience that haunts me to this day even though it was a few years ago. I had my surgery scheduled for 2 months and as I arrive around 6 am they tell me I wasn’t scheduled until 11 am but I had it scheduled for around 8 am for 2 months. Upon questioning, my family& I call him after unsuccessful attempts by the nurses to reach him. And I am told he rescheduled my surgery but I said he never notified me. He claimed the office did&I said I had no missed calls or voicemails. Come to find out, his office called the wrong number. They called my mother’s phone which I told them at my pre-op was NOT my number. Feeling a bit odd, they tell me to just come back in 2 hours. So I wait, tired&hungry. Feeling a bit better I walk back in with my family just to be greeted by a male nurse who simply&rudely tells me,”Your cancelled”. That’s it. I start getting upset asking why&the doctor comes out saying it’s because of “bad vibes”. I ended up going to someone in Santa Rosa.

Dr. Alway removed a neuroma between two of my toes. The neuroma surgery was a failure and within 6 mos. it was growing back again. That surgery was a year ago and I'm back at square one. He has given me several pain injections to help alleviate the pain but I'm still in excruciating pain daily. Dr. Alway really didn't have any other options for me other than see someone outside the area to redo it or continue the injections. I regret choosing him and wish I went to Santa Rosa or SF.
