AVOID OPHTHALMOLOGIST AND EYE SURGEON AT ALL COST
I was referred to Sacramento Eye Consultants by Dr. Hines of Envision in Roseville. I attended an appt. with Dr. Peter W. Wu a few weeks back and was advised that I needed a Cornea transplant in my eyes. We scheduled two surgical visits, one September and one iNovember. Recently, I found out that Dr. Wu’s assistant Micaela had called Dr. Hines’ office and claimed they couldn’t reach me which was a false statement. Micaela further stated that I needed an additional surgery due to high pressure and narrow angles in my right eye. I called Micaela myself to see what was going on and she told me that I needed another surgery right away, an irridotomy. This was a mistake as I had already had that surgery. I told Micaela that I would seet Dr. Hines for an 2nd opinion. Moments later Dr. Peter Wu called and threatened me and you don’t need a second opinion, “ cancel the 2nd opinion appt.” I refused to do that and then Wu canceled my cornea transplants as he threatened he would he is arrogant..

Do not go to him to treat Dry Eye Disease
He was nice at first but didn't do as thorough of an exam as he could have. When I questioned his observations, since they didn't line up with what I was experiencing, he got snippy and arrogant with me. He also invalidated and dismissed my pain and suffering by implying that I was being too sensitive (I wonder if it is because I am a female patient) and that he had other patients who were, in his opinion, worse off than me. I also mentioned to him some of the research I had done on my own to get his opinion regarding an eye drop he wanted to prescribe and said he hadn't done any research. Found another provider who specializes in Dry Eye Disease who confirmed what both my optometrist and I were seeing in the first place and had done her research and was far more knowledgeable. Please take this review to heart. Please don't dismiss patient suffering and if you are going to treat Dry Eye Disease patients, please stay on top of research.
