Same experience as many others regarding balance billing, sending to collections, not providing bills details, and my son never even saw him at the ER for an auto accident AND no surgery was even performed. Sent 4 separate bills to collections on a 19 year old, disgusting...

I’m another patient that Dr Phan is illegally “balance billing”. He is suing me for $5000 after he performed an emergency appendectomy on me at an in network emergency room. He didn’t like how much Anthem/Blue Cross wanted to pay him. His office was very practiced in helping me get my insurance company to pay him far above normal rates. Even providing me with form letters to send to my insurance company. Standard practice for thus guy to prey upon people in emergency situations.

I had an appendectomy performed by Dr Phan on May 25, 2017. I received a bill from Dr Phan for $4155.00. Normal and Customary charges should be approximately $1700.00! I have already called his office and billing, they will not reduce the charges. I feel grossly overcharged and forced to pay up or risk collections. I would not recommend Dr Phan due to this greedy experience when I was vulnerable.

I was sent to Sky Ridge Medical hospital because i broke both my legs with a bone sticking out of my leg. I had no choice in my surgeon and was directed to Peter Phan. His practice is he will balance bill his patients so he collects more money than insurance negotiates with the practice. I was in a extreme case and Dr. Phan has no sympathy but wants his money. I understand he is a doctor but in all professions must think about case by case scenarios. I would not recommend Dr. Phan

I had hernia surgery last Wednesday by Dr. Phan. I can't say enough about the level of professionalism from him, the anesthesiologist, Sky Ridge Hospital or the nurses. Surgery went great and I'm on the road to recovery now. Excellent staff and service, I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Phan saw me on an "emergency" basis in Littleton Hospital in January of this year. I did not request him, and he is not in my network. My insurance company paid him according to their contract, and even offered to pay MOST of the bill if the Dr. would agree to not balance bill me. They rejected the insurance company's offer, and are now threatening to take me to collections. I have offered to pay them on a monthly basis until the bill is paid in full, but they have rejected that also.

Dr Phan is a very good surgeon with a very comforting bedside manner! I believe he is largely responsible for me still walking on this earth. I would and will recommend him to everyone!

My wife received a $400 bill from this doctor, and never met him or heard of him. They will not tell us what the charge is for and are harassing us with collections threats now. How hard is it to explain why you are charging someone? The bills says PHAN, MD $398; that's it, and claiming ER service for an ER visit is on insurance, so why bill us! Their answer he we was the doctor on ER rounds and was out of network. Except my wife was not in the ER on the date of service. STAY FAR AWAY!
