Dr. Peter Lamparello, MD

I have been having severe pain urinating and also pain in my rectum. I have prostate cancer . It was diagnosed two and a half years ago. Because of my recent discomfort I sought an appointment with my urologist, Dr Ian Atlas. He examined me and found my prostate enlarged which indicated a spread of the cancer. Dr Atlas was quite concerned and said I must immediately see my oncologist, Dr Peter Lamporello. Dr Lamporello said my “numbers” were good and there should be no problem. My wife and I were thus very concerned about the glaring difference in the two doctors findings. We decided we needed another opinion , so we secured an appointment at the Sloan Kettering Institute in New York City . Dr Aaron Mitchell there confirmed Dr Atlas’s analysis and recommended immediate steps to deal with my situation. He also expressed puzzlement at the failure of Dr Lamporello to realize the gravity of my condition . Dr Lamporello is in our view, incompetent.
