I have been a patient of Dr. Karczmar's for over ten years. I first went to see him about sleep apnea. He sent me for a sleep study and treated me for the sleep apnea. Happy to say I no longer have sleep apnea but I continue to see him for asthma and frequent asperation pneumonia. I had a surgery for esophageal cancer which left me with the propensity to asperate food into my lungs. Dr. Karczmar has been "by my side" through several acute illnesses related to my lung condition. He has been in contact with some of my other Doctors to try to make things better. He is committed to helping me. He is not "warm and fuzzy" but does enjoy a little humor now and then. I would certainly refer a friend or family member to him..

I have been seeing Dr. Karczmar for close to 10 years. He has been an excellent, caring physician. In addition to treating my Sleep Apnea, he recommended follow-ups with other physicians when he discovered other pathology. He is focused and does not engage in idle chatter. I am very comfortable in his care.

I say that Dr Karczmar literally saved my life with a diagnosis of a very rare autoimmune disease that was accelerating rapidly in my system before he figured it out. He called with the diagnosis on a Sunday - he had been working away all weekend trying to figure it out - and got me into treatment immediately. He works well with my PCP and has been great in follow up ever since. At our last visit he sat facing me with a pen in hand, listening carefully, taking notes and was clear and firm in his recommendations. I highly recommend him.

He seemed to listen. But, apparently he didn't hear a word I said. He sent me for a sleep study and made an appointment for two months later with his assistant. That was the whole visit. He is uncaring and has no interest in his patients. Th secretary was rude when I called about the machine being broken. She told me she gave me ten minutes and hung up on me.

I saw the doctor for problems with sleep and breathing. I did not receive a thorough exam. I did not receive good follow up after the exam. I received inconsistent messaging from the staff. During the exam, the doctor seemed like he was very hesitant to exam me. He treated me he didn't want to touch me and wanted to be as far from as possible. When the doctor heard my concerns his answers didn't seem very well thought out.
