Dr. Peter Gates, MD

I have been a patient for over 45 years. What an exceptional doctor. He is being let go by Hartford Healthcare for unknown reasons to his patients. You can not believe what an amazing doctor he is.

I have been seeing Dr.Gates for several years and he is the best family physician that I know he is thoughtful caring and extremely knowledgeable. I am very saddened to find out that he is leaving and I don’t completely understand why I believe that Hartford Healthcare is doing a great disservice by loosing him. He is devoted to his patients and gives superior care.

Takes the time to throughly review your symptoms. Always listens! He saved my life because he checks and double checks! Goes above and beyond. He works to find the cause of problems with out judgment or dismissal! Great doctor!

I’ve been seeing Dr Gates for over 30 years.. My experience has been excellent… He listens to me and explains his treatment thoroughly.. He detected a “red flag” on bloodwork 10 years ago that was critical in the diagnosis and treatment by a specialist… Complete trust in this man…

I had an issue that was giving me great concern, not ER level, but I was quite uneasy about it. I used the MyChartPlus program to ask a question about it. Doctor Gates responded in quite quickly and simply asked I would like him to take a look at it. After I said yes, if it's possible, the office called me within 15 minutes, we worked out a time and I was seeing him in 2 1/2 hours. He examined my problem, and clearly explained it so I was at ease and had a plan to help it. I know I was brought in between other appointments so moving quickly was understandable, but he made sure that I was 100% clear about what was going on. This is what medicine is supposed to be.

If I could give less I would. Been a patient for 25 years. As we're both my parents before their deaths. Usually my care is fine. My last appt. and following phone call was awful, terrible, horrendous. The rudeness, failure to listen or explain, and complete lack of compassion was overwhelming. The front staff have ALWAYS been a huge problem. Most unhelpful, rude, arrogant bunch of broads ever. The nurse I spoke to on the phone was belligerent, rude, hostile and frankly could not care less whether I lived or died. I will have to search for a new PC ASAP, I can only hope someone takes me as a patient before all the red flags in my blood work (which is why I called and got the nasty nurse) kills me.

My Wife and I have been Dr. Gates patient for about 30 years. He is an exception physician who takes care to listen, to explain and does not jump to conclusions or over prescribe medication. I highly recommend Dr. Gates.

He was very nice and polite. Very good doctor! I am going to move to another state but anyways I hould like stil having him for my dortor. I trusted him, and he made me feel confortable.

Very pleased with Dr. Gates and his efficient office staff. Dr. Gates not only listens to you but he HEARS you. Have just established myself in his office as my previous physician left his practice and I did quite a bit of looking around for a new Dr. Am pleased with my "Find". Visit was on time, not hurried, pleased with the experience. Office staff is very pleasant, efficient and helpful. Refreshing! His office has moved to Cross Roads/Waterford.

Very friendly and thorough. A huge improvement from my last PCP. He took a lot of time with me and asked me about myself and took care of the things I needed right away.
