Dr. Peter Dekay, MD

He doesn’t listen to his patients. I’ve been in pain this whole pregnancy and he didn’t care at all. Always rushed me in and out of appointments. Never caring what I had to say. Do not have Dr. Dekey as your doctor. I hope you all look at reviews before deciding on a doctor. I wish I had and I would never have chosen Dr. Dekey

I have seen Dr. Dekay for years and years. After seeing a wonderful reproductive medicine doctor, I was referred to Dr. Dekay as my OBGYN. He is diligent in working with me and my clotting disorder, both during times of pregnancy and not, and the care and compassion he shows, not only for the ups and downs of OBGYN concerns, but the emotional roller coaster that we, as women, manage, as well. I have referred friends and family to him and all have loved him as their physician.

I have been going to Dr. Dekay for several years. That being said I trust what Dr Delkay says but trying to get an appointment with him is a horrible experience. I have only recently talked with one of his office lady's who proceeds to argue with me. If there is a misunderstanding I don't get more questions to clarify what my needs are there are just more assumptions. Im told by her that this is my fault. Which in turn causes more delays. Ugh! I'm frustrated!

He managed to figure out the cause of a problem I had dealt with for years during my first visit. He is very friendly and understanding. Definitely recommend.

I had a miscarriage & his office was very "hands off" about the way it was handled which I believe opened me to infection. I called repeatedly about concerns & feeling pain. Dr Dekay took 8 mo to do the D&C (which delayed our plans for pregnancy). I still had pain & he didn't give a pelvic exam but just did a visit without actually physically checking me (post-D&C). I ended up in the ER with ovarian cysts. I tried to follow up with him post-ER & he wanted me to wait 2wks. He doesn't listen/care.

I?ve never experienced a medical professional who was so demeaning and who made me feel so self-defeated. During my delivery Dr. Dekay made the following comments, ?you can do better than that? and ?you?re not pushing hard enough? and ?oh come on you can do better?. At one point he grabbed a chair, folded his arms around his chest and just sat there staring at me, my legs open, as I struggled to push, saying nothing because of his dissatisfaction with me.

Dr Dekay always made me feel at ease with the amount of information and reassurance he gave me during my first pregnancy. He spent as much time with me as I needed at our appointments, and was always very professional. One doctor I completely trust! His nurse is also amazing. She made our experience special! I felt really comfortable there. I'd reccomend him over and over again.
