I had both of my knees replaced by Dr. Chiang in October and November of 2020. Prior to the surgery, my pain was so bad I would tell my husband I wanted to just lie down and die. A year after the surgeries, I have mobility that is 110% more than I had before the surgery. My quality of life is greatly improved, and I would recommend Dr. Chiang to anyone who wants to have a knee replacement done. He's fast and efficient, and he is clearly an expert in this field. Each surgery took an hour and a half. His team proficiently prepares you for the surgery by having you take a commitment class, probably because some people back out just before the surgery. They consider everything, down to allergies to metals and glues. The key to a successful experience is to be so bad off before you get your knees replaced that having such a difficult surgery is more of a relief than an obstacle. I would get this surgery done again in a heartbeat, because that's how much of a difference it's made in my life.

This is really a follow-up to my previous review regarding more extensive recovery needed than planned after a rod removal from my Tibia. Since last posting Dr. Chiang has been in touch with me and I was able to meet with him in person. The rod was extremely hard to remove due to broken screws and it having fused with my bone. The break was actually more of a vertical/spiral fracture which release enough pressure on the rod to allow it to be removed. All in all I am glad it is out and my recovery is progressing nicely.

Dr. Chiang was recommended to me by at least two of my acquaintances who had knee replacements by him. I was very impressed with his understanding of my knee issues and his solution. I am looking forward to surgery. His manner was warm, business-like and confident.

Like all surgeons, he isn't chatty. His magic is done in the OR. He did both of my knees nine weeks apart. He did his part and I try to continue do mine. No, it wasn't a bit fun with pre-surgery exercises,, therapy afterwards, and exercises- one mile of walking every day for me - will need to be done every day for the rest of my life. Results one year out, pain free with great range of motion and an activity level I've not had for 15 years. Far exceeds my best hoped for results!

Dr.Chiang is the kind of Dr I'd hoped to find. The total knee replacement he skillfully performed healed well and three years later is still perfect. Yes, it's very painful ,and rehab is excruciating. That part is the patient's job. He is direct, kind and willing to answer questions. Sending gratitude...

Dr. Chiang is not a chatty hold your hand Dr. He gets straight to the point. He tells you straight out there is no guarantee when it comes to a total knee and if you don't do the therapy work you wil not do good. I'm happy with my surgery. Thank you Dr Chiang

he does not care after the surgery is performed, no matter how many times you go back and your not improving. all he will say is that his job he did went well and you need therapy. how much of that can you do and your still not getting better. if he can't help than who can. I will never go back to him and tell everyone about my case. I am worse off than I was before my surgery and believe me I was in served pain and I am still not in a good place. good luck to the next person he work
