Dr. Pete Caples, MD

Dr. Caples was my father's cardiologist at Bethesda North, post stroke. I have been in health care since 1988 and I have never witnessed a physician who was more condescending, and disrespectful to a family. He was contradicting information that was given by the neurologists and hospitalist, and when we queried him on this he became defensive and over reacted. I believe if he had reviewed the information in the chart, and presented it in a cogent manner and not go into areas which were not his specialty the situation would have been different. Additionally, he was telling us that he needed to get the blood pressure down, but as explained by the neurologist and hospitalist a patient who had just suffered a stroke needs to have higher blood pressure and this is known as permissive hypertension. When a family member has suffered a debilitating medical condition such as a stroke, you would expect a doctor to behave in a professional and caring manner this did not occur on this day.

My appt. with Dr. Caples was right on schedule. He was thorough in his evaluation of the effectiveness of my stent and medications. He answered all my questions with appropriate detail, in a caring manner. I will continue to always recommend Dr. Caples as a top cardiologist.

The best there is! Dr. Caples is the doctor's doctor. He's brilliant, caring, current, experienced, and friendly.
