Such a great doctor and surgeon!
Saw this awesome doctor for second opinion before going forward with heart valve surgery. So glad I did! So friendly, personable and informative before surgery. Explained options and possible outcomes so clearly and thoroughly . He agreed with my cardiologist and recommended least invasive heart valve REPAIR surgery. (He did NOT agree with first surgeon I had seen at a different smaller hospital.) Dr Wierup inspired my total confidence in him for surgery. My robotic heart valve surgery went extremely well with this doctor. Possible that his repair of my heart could last the rest of my life. (COMPARE that to first heart surgeon I saw - the one who caused me to seek a 2nd opinion from Dr Wierup- and who wanted to do the MOST invasive heart surgery- crack my chest and do valve REPLACEMENT instead of repair. THEN I would have needed repeat heart surgery every 10 -12 years for as long as I live.) Glad I found Dr Wierup! You are blessed indeed if you get THIS doctor as your surgeon!

As a general and previous vascular surgeon, I had a unique and incredible learning experience with Dr Wierup. Totally outstanding person, kind, thoughtful, meticulous to a tea...so soft spoken and care giving with abilities found once in a lifetime. He actually taught me an amazing lesson in quality of medical care and humanity. The staff at CC was off the chart great!!! I turn 73 tomorrow still practicing my craft, playing tennis, and karate...I would be dead. My patients sure appreciate you. Thanks Doc. Love you and God bless.

In our meeting before the surgery was scheduled 3 years ago, Dr. Weirup said to me "I am going to give you a new life" and he did just that after he repaired my Tricuspid valve and replaced my Aortic Valve which had been replaced 15 years before. I could not find a doctor near my home in FL that would attempt a "re-do". Dr. Weirup richly deserves his reputation as a "world renowned cardiac surgeon." His level of knowledge, compassion and expertise is beyond compare. I am truly indebted to him. I thank you from the bottom of my Heart, Dr. Weirup.

Great, Dr Wierup made me feel very comfortable letting him take charge of a mitral valve repair that was needed to be done. The need for the surgery came as a shock for me. Even though it didn't work with the robot as planned, I'm glad the doc decided to open up my chest to not risk any other issues while performing the procedure. I only have good things to say about Dr Wierup!
