Dr. Turgeon and his staff are simply the best! I recently had cataract surgery as well as lens replacements to correct my vision and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was life changing! I no longer wear glasses or contacts (I’ve been wearing one or the other for 57 years). Dr. Turgeon explained the procedures in detail and everything went just as planned. The procedures themselves are totally painless so if you’re apprehensive about eye surgery, there is no need to be! Don’t put it off any longer. It will change your life!

Wrong lens in my eye during cataract surgery
Dr. Turgeon has terrible bedside manner. I wanted near vision correction. Minutes before my cataract surgery, Dr. Turgeon told me I should have far vision correction. There was no discussion, he just told me what to do. I opted to have near vision corrected anyway. I was thrilled with the left eye. However, after my right eye surgery, I could no longer see to read, drive or use the computer. I got terrible headaches. Dr. Turgeon put the wrong lens in my right eye. First he lied about it. Then he blamed it on computer error. His solution was more surgery to replace the incorrect lens. When I asked about the risks, he replied that everything has risk, and I took a risk driving to this appointment. He never discussed the actual risks with me. He suggested reading glasses with the left lens removed. This did not work. He never suggested a contact lens, which is how I finally resolved the problem.

Be prepared for a long wait & roughness
I found Dr Turgeon rough when touching my eye area and administering drops. But the worst problem is the lack of respect for your time. After waiting 2.5 hrs after my scheduled appointment, several people mentioned their appointments were scheduled an hour or more before mine. I spoke to the receptionist and found the rooms were full of patients. She said I wouldn’t see the doctor for at least another 2-2.5 hrs. I told her I couldn’t stay any longer. The office sent me a bill, I filed a grievance.

Top notch across the board
From beginning to end Dr. Turgeon and his staff were very friendly and helpful explaining everything thoroughly for each phase of the process. I had cataract surgery on both eyes with multi focal lenses implanted. Results were exceptional restoring vision to 20-20 in both eyes. I would have no reservations recommending Dr. Turgeon for any eye concerns. My wife is planning to have her cataracts done next year and will request Dr. Turgeon too.

Extremely disappointed!
Besides waiting for hours to see this man, he pops in and out of YOUR appointment to see other patients. He doesn't listen well, and offers procedures that go beyond what is necessary, but they cost more. His technical skills may be admirable, but his ethics are questionable.

Excellent all-around expertise and care
I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes and found the level of care and expertise from Dr. Paul Turgeon and the entire team to be top-notch. They explained all of my options and the surgeries themselves (with the femtosecond laser) were almost a non-event. I had no residual post-operative pain, and my vision has been restored to near perfection, having addressed not only the cataracts but also my long-standing nearsightedness and astigmatism. After 60 years of wearing corrective lenses (both eyeglasses and contacts) I no longer need anything to see clearly both at a distance and up close. I would highly recommend Dr. Turgeon and the entire team at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons to anyone who is considering having cataract surgery or other procedures performed by them.

Dr. Turgeon is outstanding.
I could not be more pleased with the results of my recent cataract surgery by Dr. Turgeon. He and his staff were very professional and caring. I always felt confident that I was in good hands. I am especially pleased with the tremendous vision I currently have from receiving the multifocal lenses. I do not use glasses at all, not even readers. I see great up close and far away. To me, it was worth the extra cost of the special lenses to be able to see again as I did in my younger years. I highly recommend Dr. Turgeon and his team.

I was treated like Royalty! Having been referred to Dr. Turgeon by my personal Ophthalmologist, it was determined, after several examinations that not only did I have Glaucoma, but both eyes were riddled with Cataracts! Now, however, I am feeling better at the young age of 72 than when I was 35! Jimmy Cliff's sentiments "I can see clearly now the rain is gone....,"are truly felt now--having been seen by Dr. Turgeon!

I am 64 years old and I have worn glasses since third grade. I had to have cataract surgery. I chose to have the better lenses for procedure. I now have 20/20 vision! I don't remember ever seeing this well. Everything is clear and bright. The colors are amazing. I am more than happy with Dr. Turgeon and his staff. Everything was explained clearly to me beforehand so I knew exactly what to expect during the procedure and afterward. The procedure and recovery went smoothly with nothing unexpected occurring. I love being able to see better than ever. I now have to get a new drivers license to remove the eyewear restriction.

Kudos to Dr. Turgeon and his staff. Their professionalism, skill and care are top notch. I had been top of the eye chart nearsighted from the fourth grade. Thankfully (yes thankfully), I developed cataracts in both eyes obscuring my vision even more so. Doctor Turgeon of Eye Care Center of Ohio was recommended to me by my regular optometrist. In consultation, he examined my eyes and discussed my various options. I agreed with his recommendation of the Toric multi-focal lenses. Two surgeries were scheduled, one for each eye. Both went extremely well and the procedures were pain free. I now have better than 20/20 vision, even better than what I had in my early childhood. I do still need to wear reading glasses when reading or doing up close work like threading the eye of a fish hook, but I knew that would be likely the case before hand. I highly recommend Doctor Turgeon and Eye Care Center of Ohio.

I couldn’t fit it all on 1 page. I have evidence of the entire situation so He can’t lie. Yes I got into a verbal altercation with a few of them. They called the police & said I was threatening them. I didn’t at that moment honestly! After They called the police & being aggressive right along with me.. Yes I told the Sassy one to step outside then because You know what You are doing! Told the employee to record Me..Well I RECORDED THE BEGINNING OF THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION!!! Not the part that turns it in their favor! Think faster next time, I already have another doctor Doctor! Don’t complain about YOUR SERVICE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR DR.!!! Again I Recorded the ENTIRE 10minute 47 second fiasco & not the part that makes you look good! If you post a review not in their favor .. he will release You as his patient. Tried to Bully Me actually....NEVER

I feel Dr Turgeon is an overall excellent doctor. However, I was there for 2 hours for an appointment. I was taken in my eyes dilated which took 5-6 min then I waited 2 hrs until he finally was able to see me and he was in the room approx 4-5m. I felt it an unnecessary waste of my time to wait that long for something that took 10 min tops. My time is as valuable as his.

My new opthalmologist found problems with my corneas during my first exam. He referred me to Dr Turgeon. His exam was thorough and he was very honest with the eye problems I had; both corneas needed to be scraped and I also had cataracts in both eyes. It took 8 months and 4 surgeries to correct the vision in both eyes, but I am happy and grateful! He did not hurry the process, making sure the corneas were completely healed (one at a time) before proceeding to the next step. My last cataract surgery (which required a special lens) was completed in August 2019. My far sighted vision is 20/20. I will still need "readers" but even my near-sightedness has improved. So thankful for getting referred to Dr Turgeon for the best possible result.

I had an eye condition called Fuch's dystrophy which effects your ability to see clearly. As my vision continued to worsen during the last 5 years I was unable to use my computer or read printed materials with out the aid of a large magnifying glass. It became more and more frustrating. I was slowly losing one of my God given sense of sight. After Dr. Turgeon surgically implanted donor membrane cells into each eye, my vision is now 20/20. He operates at their facility called Iris and the facility is a well tuned machine with a staff that cares. They treat you like family from start to finish. I was starting to lose some of my independence. Because of Dr.Turgeon and a wonderful donor who donated their membrane cells I have regained my independence. When I die I am donating my organs, so I can give back to help a fellow human being in need. I think everyone should consider becoming an organ donor.
