Dr. Paul Smucker, MD

Verey short. Very impersonal. A pathetic examination. After spending 75 minutes waiting for him he only spent around 5-10 minutes with me and did not examine me or ask me any questions, Basically all he did was reorder 2 prescriptions for me from a NP at corewell in Stevensville,Mi otherwise he did absolutely nothing and I would certainly not recommend him to anyone. If my wife or I ever go back to SBO we will not under any circumstances see him.

Dr Smucker has been taking care of my degenerative disc disease since we moved to Michiana 10 years ago. I have had a series of epidurals to control pain as the problem moved lower on my back and the most recent left and right ablations in my lower back. Each time he has been expert and compassionate and his team has been remarakbly cohesive, kind and professional

Dr. Smucker was incredibly kind and welcoming, I was at ease immediately. His bedside manner is lovely, and he is very engaged with you throughout the whole encounter. He consistently made sure I was doing okay and not in too much discomfort. It's very evident that Dr. Smucker is highly knowledgeable in his specialties and values his patients' time. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Shcmucker knows his business and explains everything ahead of time I have seen him several times and he has worked on my back several times and I trust him

I was pleased that diagnostic X-rays were taken at my initial visit so that my condition could be discussed right away. He was personable, knowledgeable and relatable which meant a lot to me. I definitely would refer him and his staff to others in the future. Thanks again!

Just had my first appointment with him this last week. His staff was very friendly. The parking was convenient especially since I am handicapped. They were running way behind on appointments but once it was my turn he spent as much time as I needed to explain things and answer questions. So if a doctor runs behind because he is spending that kind of care and attention with his patients then I can't be upset about the wait. He gave me a health plan and explained what route we should go. So I will see how everything goes once scheduled.

he was friendly enough and listened to me, checked a few things but then the 1st thing he suggested was getting an injection. i asked what happens if it works, am i going to have to keep getting them, what if it doesn't work then what. he couldn't even give me an answer other than i don't want to give you an answer i don't know. let's try the injection and go from there...... i already had an injection in my shoulder that lasted 2 months and back in pain and scheduled for surgery. shot's don't do anything other than reduce inflammation or give pain relief. i'm not in that much pain where i want a shot and if it's inflammation it's more than likely going to come back after the shot wears off.... no thanks

Horrible doctor,doesn't listen to patients,first words out of his mouth "so you've been having chronic pain for 10 years and I'm supposed to fix you" not looking at my records of at least 5 yrs of prescription and medical help. Thx for nothing..this year without his help I've had both hips replaced and am currently scheduled for back surgery!

I was severely crippled with neck and lower back arthritis and spent two months lying on our couch during which time I lost 15 pounds being in so much pain I wasn't interested in eating. Dr. Smucker gave me injections at the site of my pains and I can now function normally. Merely saying thank you to this Doctor is not enough for the relief he has given me. I truly thought I was going to be crippled for the rest of my life and Doctor Smucker has given it back to me again. Words cannot express my gratitude!!!!!!

I am very satisfied with Dr. Smuckers has helped my pain a great deal. He is very pleasant and friendly.

Dr. Smucker is professional, yet warm and caring. He was thorough in his exam, by asking question, asking for "show me where it hurts" and having me do some simple physical moves. He is reassuring, calm and has a good sense of humor.

He was of no help to me. Gave me one injection that did nothing. Went back for follow up and he told me he could give me one more injection, then he was done with me because there was nothing else he could do for me. Turned his back on me and left me in his office, crying from pain, with the person on the computer. NEVER went back and never will. He offered no referrals, no suggestions, no NOTHING. Bad, unempathetic doctor.

I’m very disappointed and upset with this Dr., zero stars aren’t low enough. I was in pain when I went to see this dr., and really needed a light to shine. He started off hospitable, and asked me to tell him about my MVR accident. As I began to tell him, a Nurse stuck her head inside door, she said another dr., whom I don’t know, was on the phone. He apologized and excused himself. Upon returning, he examined me abruptly and rudely, then said he could not help me. Avoid this dr. at all costs!

Dr. Smucker developed a great care plan for me. He methodically and professionally executed the plan while setting realistic expectations for me. He did a wonderful job alleviating my back pain.

Doctor Smucker is very professional but also very human. His diagnosis was excellent and the course of treatment recommended by him was outstanding. I would not hesitate to see him again (if needed) or to recommend him to other people.

Discounting wait time, I am very satisfied with the care and options he offered for me to make my own health decision. He doesnt leave me with unanswered questions. In fact he contributes information outside the reason for the appointment that makes me feel he is also interested in the total me to improve my quality of life. He is very personable and puts me at ease.

Listened to what I had to say and worked with me until he was able to diminish my pain.

After my 3rd appointment, he still had no idea who I was or any details of what I had been dealing with, often making "new" suggestions that had already been covered. Basically if you want anything but injections for pain, look elsewhere.

I really like dr. smucker he listened to me and explained everything to me is very kind and sharing doctor.

I found Dr. Smucker to be very knowledgeable in his field and caring about my needs. He took the time to listen and resolved to remedy my problems. He makes sure to follow up as to whether the situation is fixed. If not, he pursues onward to the next step. I also enjoy his smile and personality.
