A 5 Star Physician and Surgeon
After having been seen by 8 different Urologists as an adult, it took minutes to realize that, while the other doctors were good, this man was a definite improvement in his personality, listening skills and, as I soon learned, a very highly skilled surgeon. I met him at hospital at 6AM, was taken into surgery at 6:10 and a few hours later I was in a Recovery room and a significantly complicated operation, that 3 other Urologists were hesitant to address, had been performed flawlessly. I have had two additional surgeries performed by Doctor Rusilko since then and, each time, I went into the OR knowing that I was in the best of hands and feeling fortunate to have met him. Simply the best!!

I had an initial evaluation appointment. Dr.Rusilco was late for about an hour claiming on some emergency. OK. That happens. The evaluation was well and I liked him. He suggested me to call back his office and schedule a procedure. It took me two days and a few messages to get to his stuff. Finally they promised me to schedule the procedure in two month. OK, I agreed. No one ever call me again. I called them in two month. Same protocol- a bunch of messages and waiting for stuff to call back. The girl on a phone sounded like they never had anything scheduled for me and offered a new appointment in another two month. I just wasted my time and need to start over again. He is a good doctor but his stuff is very irresponsible!

1. No pre op instructions provided. So it was just by chance I hadn't eaten or drank too much the day of procedure 2. Lack of disclosure as to what medical procedures were being done beforehand. 2 additional procedures were performed without my consent. 3. Resident assisted in procedures but I was never informed. 4. Office wait times in excess of an hour and 30 minutes. 5. Difficulty in getting post treatment care. 6. Doc did not respond to a question I sent via myupmc messaging. 7. Doc raised his voice at me and was rude and dismissive.

I had severe Fourniers gangrene 18 months ago. After passing through 2 hospitals who "couldn't do anything for me", I landed at UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh. I was immediately taken into surgery upon arrival. Had a second surgery 3 days later to remove more tissue. On the day of my 3rd and final surgery, I recall the OR nurse who was prepping me remarking that I was a lucky man because Dr. Rusilko was working on me. He is arguably the best reconstructive urologist in the Pittsburgh area. He worked wonders with what tissue I had left and I am pleased with the results 18 months later. He was very thorough and informative in my follow-up visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Rusilko!
