They’re your friends
I went to DOS initially to see Dr. Dellose for my knee. Hitting your 50’s stinks! He took great care of me and referred me to Dr. Kupcha for a foot issue. Dr. Kupcha took great care of me too. When you talk to them, you’re talking to a friend that is concerned about you and helping you! Highly recommend DOS to everyone!

Excellent Ortho surgeon in Delaware
Dr Kupcha has been very professional and is a trusted hand if ever going through a surgical procedure in Delaware. He takes the time every appointment to care and listen to questions and concerns, his team of Mike and Gerry are excellent as well, comforting you at a time when you may have a lot of stresses with the unknowns of a new injury.

Horrible!!
I went to him in need of ankle surgery, he talked over my head to his little mini me. Told me to come back with MRI results from 2019 and when I did the next day, he was annoyed at having to look at all the images. Then told me to scheduled a CTScan but every time he mentioned testing he mentioned that my insurance may not cover it. What DR. has time to worry about insurance of the patient - is that not what staff takes care of. I work for the STATE of MD and am not on medicaid. I went to ask him a question and he said he did not have time. If I had a dog I would not let him operate on it. After my experience with this Dr., I went to Rothman in NJ and the ortho surgeon wanted a new MRI he said a 3 year old one was useless. The ortho at Rothman did not have a mini me and spoke in terms I could understand and took time to answer my questions. If you are in need of ankle or foot surgery stay away. Rothman Institute is worth the drive in gold over the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

I had bunion surgery by Dr. Kupcha. There was very little pain afterward. Since the surgery I have been seen every 2 weeks to check the healing process and to replace the dressing. Dr. Kupcha and his medical staff have been very helpful, answering any questions. I’ve had.

The doc and his PA were easy to talk to, got right to the problem and made the right call regarding my issue. I’m a bit of a “frequent flyer” recently to a number of different doctors and Kupcha rates among the best I’ve seen.

DOS called me to schedule appointment with Dr. Kupcha due to a broken foot. I drove 2 hours for that appointment scheduled at 11am. By 11:30am I wasn't called back yet but knew Dr. Kupcha was only working a half day. I told them I was in a lot of pain and asked how long it would be. They then tell me that he left to do emergency surgery and I would need to wait an hour. Then they tell me that the Dr. is not coming back after surgery and wouldn't be back for 2 days! Not only that, but they give me major attitude as well. The office staff was incredibly rude and when I asked to speak to a manager I was told she went to lunch. Finally the manager comes out and says what can she do to help?? I say can you call the doctor and let him know I'm here for the appointment and she says no she can't do that. If this is how they treat patients in the office can you imagine if you have issues with surgery? Scary thought! Other patients I spoke to in the waiting room also very unhappy.

The doctor was deeply interested in reviewing my arthritis bone by bone on my x-rays. I shared a symptom that I remembered while being x-rayed and he behaved with agitation stating he had asked me about that during the exam. He never mentioned having reviewed my MRI and didn’t address the lisfrak ligament issues noted on the MRI. When I attempted to ask a question, he shushed me until he completed his audio-visual review of the films. After that he kept his back turned while he charted the encounter. After that he was in a hurry to leave and didn’t appear interested in any questions. He mentioned surgery as only a last resort as he prepared to leave. My husband asked him how to manage the extreme pain that interferes with sleep and he gave a few over the counter names and continued out the door. He said he was going to send in someone to fabricate a custom brace. He didn’t give further information such as the pros or cons of a device. No plan for follow up.Colossal waste of my time.

Dr. Kupcha is an excellent surgeon. He performed my left big toe fusion in 2017. The outcome was successful. I recently returned to his office for a similar surgery on my right big toe and 2nd toe. I am 3 weeks post-op and am looking forward to a full resumption of activity in another 4 weeks. Dr. Kupcha is always professional, kind, and I regularly and confidently refer anyone with foot problems to him.

It’s been a long journey with Dr. Kupcha and team. They have taken such great care of me from the first day to present. Even though I’m still recovering from my ankle surgery, I know when it’s all over my ankle will be in good condition. Dr. Kupcha takes his time explaining everything that is going on and has compassion for his patients. His team is awesome as well and has taken great care of me. Do not hesitate to come see Dr. Kupcha for your foot and ankle care.
