Great follow up care
Dr. Kim did my ankle replacement surgery December 2024. It is April 2025 and I am walking around without pain. Dr. Kim was very good with post surgery care as I have problems with several pain relievers. He’s stuck with it until we found something that worked. His staff were also very helpful. I’ve had surgery done by one other surgeon in this office, Dr. Cohen, who was also terrific with follow up.

Ruptured Quad Tendon repair - July 28, 2024
This is an update of my October 9, 2024 review of Dr. Paul Kim. Post surgery I followed Dr. Kim's direction and cautions on rehab and physical therapy. At my last February and hopefully final follow-up Dr. Kim gave me the 'green light - no restrictions'. I can do all physical activities that I could do before the injury-surgery in July. While I am not at 100% of my pre-injury strength, I believe I will be at 100% within 3 months. Can't say enough about Dr. Kim's skill not only as a surgeon but also as positive motivator. All the kudos from my Oct review plus more.

Excellent Surgeon
I had a perfect outcome from my foot fusion surgery. I couldn’t be happier!! Dr. Kim is an excellent surgeon, and a compassionate and dedicated doctor. He takes the time to listen and explain. We drove two hours to see him, because we knew he was the only surgeon we wanted to operate on me. Dr Kim operated on my husband several years ago, after a serious injury, and his result is absolutely perfect. So when we learned he moved his office to the South Bay, we did not hesitate to drive to see him. It was the best decision. My surgical result is excellent! Thank you Dr Kim!

Telehealth
Dr. Kim has been my foot and ankle doctor for several years. His professional, smart, kind and always listens to you. He always has answers, orders appropriate tests. I think he’s a fantastic doctor! He has moved out of Marin county and I do not mind driving an hour and a half to see him in both directions.

Taking Care Of My Medical Emergency
Dr. Paul Kim is my new Orthopedic Doctor and Surgeon. I went to Dr. Kim because of long-term foot and ankle problems that have become progressively worse with age. Dr. Kim used my X-rays and physical examination my foot to diagnose my current situation and determine a plan of treatment during my first visit. An immediate need for surgery was scheduled, all necessary paperwork was completed, and even a follow-up appointment was scheduled at the same time. Surgery was successfully completed within 4 days. I will continue to solve my additional orthopedic problems with complete confidence in Dr. Kim. He is now my family’s orthopedic doctor and surgeon, and is even currently taking care of my daughter. Dr. Kim is a very caring and competent doctor.

Highly Recommend - the ankle surgeon you want!
Dr. Kim was my ankle surgeon after I fractured my fibula and tore some ankle ligaments playing hockey. I found Dr. Kim to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. My family and I came in with a long list of questions about my procedure, concerns, etc and he took the time to answer each one in detail. He explained the technique he would use and why he decided on this particular method. My PT commented that his approach may have saved me many months of recovery (vs what they typically see for similar injuries in my age group). [In contrast, the first surgeon I met had wanted to go in without an MRI or explaining the benefits of their surgical plan.] With Dr. Kim’s less invasive approach I returned back to sport just 3 months post op. Dr Kim and his clinical assistant, Max, maintained a high level of professionalism and care I saw throughout all of our pre and post op visits. I’m not sure why other reviews are negative, I couldn’t have asked for a better care team!

I have found Dr. Kim to be exceptionally unprofessional in his doctor to patient attitude. I had prevalent questions before my surgery and meeting with him did not answer those questions. He then prescribed something for pain which was akin to taking a placebo. I then called the day before my surgery to explain my concerns and found, in answer to my earlier questions, he had gone ahead and cancelled my surgery for the next day. Needless to say, I was stunned to learn this and still do not know why he made that last minute decision without talking with his patient. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

Aloof and disinterested
I have found Dr. Kim to be aloof and disinterested. He left the exam room without asking me any questions or waiting for the questions that I had for him. I had to call him back twice to get my concerns addressed, which he did in a rushed manner without speaking with me to make sure that I understood each possibility of care, and finding out which might work for me.

Follow up review
I’ve had several unpleasant exchanges with Dr. Kim. He has a 1.9 out of 5 on Health Grade and a 2.5 out of 5 on Share Care. That’s a failing grade in my opinion. Dr. Kim would do well with some self reflection.

Surgery outcome
Saw Dr. kim for foot surgery. Had consulted 2 other surgeons but Dr. Kim suggested a different surgery with a 3 week recovery. Postoperatively, there were problems with the surgery and I ended up with a 6 -12 month recovery. And a poor outcome. Realize doctors are humans too but he changed his prognosis and his approach to the problem after surgery was scheduled and done. I regret not making another choice. The office had very poor communication and it took 5 days to get medicine for a post op infection. I think it’s good to get a few opinions and if someone suggests an easy solution to a complicated problem, best to listen carefully.

rude
I am 73 years old and obviously I have met so many doctors in my life. BUT no one was as short, sarcastic and rude, to me. I brook my foot while traveling in Europe. Few days after I got backI met dr Kim. He walked in and sat in the far corner after X-ray was taken and said what happened as soon as I started, his hand came up with stop sign. Then he said your foot is broken and my assistance will give you a boot and left. I had 4 or 5 question unanswered so, i insisted to see him again he came back after a long while. I told him I timed myself it will take only 30 second to ask hime the questions At this time he got angry and said "there are so many doctors I can send you to one" Then told me I was sarcastic. ALL I WANTED TO GET ANSWERED ON MY FEW QUESTIONS. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR BEING ARROGANT

Horrible experience and bad behavior towards a pat
I took my eladerly father to Dr. Paul Kim. The doctor met us in an very unpleasant manner, just talked and didn’t eve examine his lege. He sent us for an MRI and post MRI we did not hear from his office. Once we called them they told us that the earliest we could meet them was 1 month later. After many calles we got the chance to get a telehealth visit. Wich was cnacled last second and my father was transferred to another doctor. It has been 2 months, my father is still battling with the pain and we still have not received the MRI result.

I had a painful toe problem that prevented me from walking comfortably. Dr. Kim assessed my problem, determined I needed surgery and within a week (my choice) I had my surgery. Follow-up was uneventful. I wore a boot for approximately one month and I am back to walking. I am thrilled with his care.
