A Smart, Intelligent Doctor Who’s Very Attentive
My son was having severe insomnia. Doctor H. Took time to go over his history, while suggesting eating and exercise changes. When one medication didn’t work, he sent another in its place with just a phone call. He’s officially my son’s doctor, now!

Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Waited for 2 hours for a COVID screening after my appointment. Dude came in and seemed to be bothered by me asking questions about my symptoms. I even communicated that I was very concerned due to symptoms that were not COVID related but incredibly painful. He took the COVID test and opened the door to leave while i was still asking questions. He told me he would call the next day and left in a hurry.. wote me a prescription to pick up - sent it to a closed pharmacy. He didnt call the next day. Called back to ask about it and left a message with the nurse, didnt get a call the next day either. Left another message, and here we are 5 days after my appointment and still no word. Eventually after jumping through hoops I was able to find an online portal that told me I was negative for COVID. Ended up going into the ER bc my painful swelling symptoms still persist. ER nurse said the doc prescribed me the wrong meds.... what a joke.

I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Hazelbaker as my primary care physician. I have a half dozen specialists treating me for a variety of serious health issues, however I rely on the skill, attention to detail, and genuine concern of Dr. H as he oversees and coordinated my care. I honestly believe I’d have to interview 100 PCPs to find someone as good as he is.

Recently switched from another PCP and clinic, and was very pleased to secure Dr. Hazelbaker as my new primary care physician. He is also the director of the downtown Sixth Ave Clinic. Dr. H was a breath of fresh air compared with the care I had received elsewhere. He was calm, at ease and focused on our meeting. A very good listener, he made me comfortable and confident with his care. Strong eye contact. A competent, caring, and knowledgeable health care provider. I am lucky to have him as PCP!

Dr. Hazelbaker is a good family doctor. He demonstrates good eye contact, he's a good listener but will interject pertinent health information. His demeanor put us at ease and he is quick witted. The new perscriptions he perscribed were already waiting at our pharmacy before we returned home from our first visit at his practice and thanks also go out to the staff. Friendly atmosphere upon checking in. Parking is challenging but that's because he is now located in Downtown San Diego.
