Neurologist
Communicated well, professional and great bed side manners. I liked the fact he was informative and explained my condition and what needed to be done.

my experience
Came back to Ks after a stroke out of state and was referred by my PCP to Dr Genilo. I saw him prob twice in five years, complained both times due to him not letting me explain myself, not listening, talking over me, - it's condescending. Most visits were with PA's and were absolutely fine. Also, I read a review on here about scheduling, I agree! It seemed like every appt. was a different day or a different time than I had written down. I always thought it was me, but the last time I made an appt I got in the very next morning, they even called the same day to confirm. The next day when I came to the appt. they had a different time and told me one more minute and I wouldn't have been seen.

Mixed feelings
Good bedside manner when him I see. 80% of time it's not him but a PA that's always different. When I ask questions about research related to my condition he always says there isn't anything new. Despite constant pain now alternative meds are prescribed. Won't describe the difference between the meds I'm prescribed. It's a steady on course situation as far as he's concerned. I have mixed feeling about him and I'm about ready to try someone else.

Dr Genilo has been my doctor for the past 15+ years. He and his assistants have always been friendly and professional. They have answered any questions and relieved any concerns or fears I have concerning my medical diagnoses.

I liked Dr Genilo. I thought his table side manner was excellent. I am seeing him for my neuropathy. He hasn’t changed any of my medications yet. I would have given him 5 stars if they prescribed pain medications. But his office doesn’t. I will return to see him in the future.

I have been seeing Dr. Genilo for over 10 years for focal seizures. He has always listened attentively, adjusted my medications thoughtfully and helpfully, and kept up-to-date on concerns I have had.

Despite a packed schedule, Dr. Genilo took great time with me, wasn't hurried, listened intently to me, and welcomed additional input. My situation was run-of-the-mill, but he pursued every line of inquiry. He ordered lab tests and an MRI just to confirm his diagnosis that my problem was due to a conflict of medications, rather than organic. He was patient, cheerful, and inspired confidence in his abilities. Months later, I can confirm that his diagnosis was correct. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Genilo has a very calming manner. He truly cares for his patients. His exams are thorough and then he explains the situation and options completely. Would not want another neurologist because could not be a better one

The Dr. himself was very nice. I don't think he believed me. I am having problems stuttering and involuntary hand movements. He thought it was a medicine I was taking to prevent migraines. However, I have a sister with the same symptoms and a 7 year old niece that is starting to have the symptoms and neither take the medicine. Had a MRI of my brain done almost a month ago and have yet to hear what the results are. My next appointment is with a nurse practitioner in October! Staff is rude!

Appreciated that he is most always on schedule, but didn't feel he really hears my concern of continued migraines despite various treatments. Last 2 times I saw him, there was a backlog at checkout counter so didn't reschedule, since I wasn't getting good answers.

Horrible, horrible experience. Very dismissive and condescending as soon as I mentioned I had anxiety/depression in the past and spent very little time examining me. My GP's concern was MS due to symptoms and Genilo suggested I had a psychosomatic disorder (I basically got the middle-aged, female histrionic treatment). Well, it turned out to be an autoimmune disease as diagnosed soon after by a rheumatologist and I was put on medication that helps. I would never recommend this physician.
