Awful!!
This was the ER doctor for my husband. He is awful. He questioned my relationship to him until I showed him our matching wedding rings. My husband was, eventually, diagnosed with a concussion. At NO time did this physician address me though my husband repeatedly asked where he was and why he was there. Personnel with the ambulance told me that his repetitious questioning was normal with a concussion. Did I hear that from the Dr? No. Did any ER nurse check up on my husband during the 5 hour stay in the ER? NO. I would not recommend MatSu Regional as a hospital, nor Paul Basel as a doctor, unless you expect no care. Also, this is days from the incident and there has been NO contact by the radiologist who was supposed to read the scans.

He took care of me in the ER at MatSu Reginal. He was very kind and considerate. He listened to how I felt about a procedure, went and checked something, then came back and sat down and discussed it with me to help me understand it.I would like to have him as my primary care doctor.

We saw Dr. Basel in the er 2 times in a week, very unprofessional, told us he could do nothing for the pain. Treated us terrible, would not recommend him at all. Will ask for another Dr. If we ever have to go to the er again and he’s there. What has happened to caring for the patient and listening to the reason they’re in the er. We’re not there because we have nothing better to do. He’s a disgrace to the medical field

Poor
Dr Paul Basel was the emergency room physician attending at my visit 8/12/2022. I was very disappointed with his professionalism and his knowledge. He questioned the results of the Ultrasound from Imaging, remarking that what they claimed to be a blood flowing containing mass was but a quote "quote so called terd". Only because the cat scan that was taken didn't show anything. He showed no concern of the pain I was in or my high markers in my blood work, except to just release me and forward me to my primary care physician. I do not feel like he did his do diligence in offering care for me, but shoved me out the door. I was painfully prodded for blood work because I told the nurse upfront I had rolling veins, and valves, and was dehydrated...I was still stuck in a valve and eventually stuck in my hand, leaving a bruise in my arm. The whole event was painful and very unprofessional. My concerns were not addressed at all, nor my blood work. Feel Basel lost meaning of Dr. oath.

Excellent care
Dr. Basel cared for my husband at MatSu Regional Hospital Emergency Room. He went above and beyond our expectation of care. Dr. Basel ruled out and problem solved until it was clear what the medical issue existed.
