Dr Smith is the BEST!
This will be my husbands second surgery. The first was a few years back for a different problem and he did surgery on Tom's back. Successful. Now, doc has the undaunting task of trying to give my husband some mobililty back in his right arm and legs. Tom will have surgery within 2 weeks on his neck.Doc Smith's way of explaining things makes something that is medically challenging to understand easy to comprehend. And the office staff? Wonderful! Just can't say enough.

Disappointing experience
I would never go back to Dr. Smith. After a positive first meeting...and lots of promises...he basically stopped communicating with me. His office took 6 weeks to get back to me and then had no idea who I was. They wouldn't even return my primary physicians calls. I had such high expectations given reviews and a personal reference, but this was a disaster and set back my care 6 months. When I asked to have records transferred, that request was ignored as well. I had to have a very stern conversation with the office to get those records....my records....transferred. Do not recommend whatsoever!

Dr. Smith only spends 5 minutes with you. He gives you no time to ask questions or to go over health concerns. I don't recommend him. There are other doctors out there who listen and care about your health. He hasn't been able to help me with my spine problems.

Dr Patrick Smith has been my back and neck doctor for 4 years he performed cervical spine surgery on me 2 years ago , Dr Smith takes time to explain what your condition is and the treatment that is best suited for it. Unlike some surgeons he attempts to avoid operating on you and only does when its absolutely necessary. Great doctor and the three river staff is great.

Mine was not necessarily a failed surgery but an incomplete one. A last minute decision to not do 3 levels the morning of the surgery. Shortly after the surgery, I continued to report pain. Went through many doctors and various medicines to help what was thought to be a delayed recovery from surgery or fibromyalgia. Discontinued care with Dr. Smith and am now under the care of another surgeon. New surgeon will go in for a second surgery to fuse the third level, remove and replace old hardware.

Dr. Smith has recently performed a discectomy between my L4-L5 due to a severely herniated disc. I couldn't be happier with the decision I made to see him. He very much described in detail every part of the surgery, from the admission to the hospital to what to expect 5 years from now. He went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly down to typing my blood before surgery, just in case. He's very easy to talk to and listens to and answers every question and concern I have had.
