Dr. Patrick Schimpf, MD

Dr Schimpf name was listed on my surgeon information on the surgery as their assistant in the surgery. In my past experience with surgeon assistant they are part of the hospital charge. Dr. Schimpf waits months to submit his bill to the insurance company. They denied the claim and he again resubmit. and denied. Almost year I get a bill for his charges. Dr Schimpf charge half what the surgeon charge. At the top of his bill statement it state: This CLAIM HAS BEEN SENT TO YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY > IF YOU DISAGREE PLEASE CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND APPEAL STATING YOU HAD NO CHOICE IN PICKING YOUR ASSISTANT SURGEON. is this common practice.

She/He/It is a leech that gets added onto bills since he's out of all insurance networks and therefore costs far too much. Fun fact, in my case there's no proof he was ever present to ASSIST my surgeon other than a $1,500 bill. And if it wasn't obvious, I never met this guy unless it was as the drugs kicked in to knock me out.
